Last night at a political rally in Coeur D' Alene, Idaho, I asked Vice President Cheney to autograph a large print of the now famous "Dear Jon Carry" sign. You can view it at http://www.boundarygop.org/

The reason for the small-town visits is apparently to get out the base to vote. Our small town votes add up to wins in small states where the electoral votes start to add up.

It seems the GI's still have a sense of humour and maybe that indicates pretty good morale.

Micromarketing. It's what got Bush elected.

"... I feel bad for the investigating officer, who has to go through the motions..."Probably because kerry demanded it. We've seen just how vindictive he is.
To: Bonaparte
I'd love to the the investigating officer. I'd recommend counseling for all the participants...say for two weeks in Dubai on full per diem.
To: CWOJackson
Wow. That is indeed a comprehensive list of people they cannot critique.
Now it's going to be up to any prosecutor to find a "Jon Carry" serving in any of those positions. If they can't find a person by that very name, then they're really going to be hard pressed to push forward.

When I was in, Enlisted folks could make fun of politicians but not officers. Officers however were restricted from making fun of politicians. I'd be surprised if it has changed.

He advised me that the DOD is considering it humor without intent to denigrate an elected official. Good! After all they had NO IDEA it would go so far or have the impact that it did.

It's one thing to be sitting around the barracks or chow hall talking about politicians...it's another to do it in a public format.
AGAIN, I do not advocate actual charges against these troopers and I love what they did.
To: Nateman
I just checked the UCMJ. Here's where you can't insult congress:
888. ART. 88. CONTEMPT TOWARD OFFICIALS Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.
Here's what it says about enlisted (and lower officers):
889. ART. 89 DISRESPECT TOWARD SUPERIOR COMMISSIONED OFFICER Any person subject to this chapter who behaves with disrespect toward his superior commissioned officer shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.
Notice that politicians are not commissioned officers. Those enlisted sign-holders are only guilty of bad spelling!

I sent it to Bill O'reilly. It may even go farther.

They are off the hook if look closely at the UCMJ. Look a few posts up or check out
888 and 889 of the UCMJ.

Maybe Pres. Bush will issue a blanket pardon.
Or everyone in the unit will say their name is "Spartacus!"

A blanket pardon would be in order should there be a problem. Now, how about a blanket party for Kerry? Who's in??

Is it a violation to privately plan on the assasination of Senators? Hmmm. We'll have to axe Johnny hisself about that one!
Good memory...maybe someone in the DBM ought to run the tapes or post the transcript on that episode.
