McCaskill has been hit hard by Talent for her nursing home inspection record and not paying property taxes for three years.

So, today, her husband (a nursing home mongul) is heard apologizing and explaining that it was his fault the taxes weren't paid. He said that his wife never even knew he did not pay the taxes.

I laughed so hard. If Claire can't keep track of her own marital business affairs, how can she possibly take care of senatorial business? Methinks she is getting very desperate to put out this ad.

It's her brother, not husband. But passing the buck was always a popular excuse for Democrats.

Was this her husband or her brother.

Her brother is in a commericial that has been airing earlier this week, saying that he hit upon hard times, so Claire let him use her condo. And HE didn't pay the taxes on it.

As if by loaning a condo to her brother, it totally excuses her from paying the taxes on her ownership of it.

Claire McCaskill is a piece of work.

Oh dear, I didn't mean to misinform anyone. I thought the ad was made by her present husband. But, nonetheless, she must be getting desperate to put out this ad.

I heard her brother on the radio saying it was all his fault. That the Clairemonster didn't even know the taxes weren't paid. He said they had an agreement for him to pay the taxes and he had financial difficulties and didn't.
Seems to me Claire made another BAD decision, that of course wasn't her fault. How convenient.

I heard that ad yesterday and the guy speaking said that he was her brother (younger) and she had been kind enough to allow him to stay in her Lake of the Ozarks Condo (which is pretty palatial)on the condition that he pay all of the bills. He then stated that he did not pay those taxes and only told his sweet sister when it was apparent that foreclosure would take her condo away!

That does not allow HER out of HER obligation but last minute whining by younger brother may just sway some wimps.

Yeah, she has her brother taking blame for failure to pay taxes and her mother complaining about how mean Jim Talent is.

The icing on the cake, though, is Claire herself saying how we should be "fighting the issues, not each other" when she was the one who attacked Jim Talent starting in June when Talent was running his "These are the issues I dealt with in Washington" commercials.

I don't know about anyone else, but it seems to me that airing a campaign ad of this sort -- in which a close family member is taking responsibility for something to avoid having the blame laid on the candidate -- is a sign of extreme desperation.

Claire's first husband was killed in "mysterious" circumstances while she was a prosecutor or DA up in KC. The common understanding was he was killed during a drug deal.
