From Michael Malkin's blog: Hoekstra's response to NYT admitting Saddam was apparently a very dangerous man.

Wait...the NYT released documents showing Saddam had WMD? ...and this si damaging to US security? Now? ...how? Can someone give some context? It doesn't make sense on the face of it.

If they called a press conf. specifically about this information then it would look like a Cindy Sheehan press conference after she slammed Hitlery.
No "reporters" would show up. This will be supressed and buried until after the election in the MSM's continuing campaign to get Demoncraps elected.

............"I recall that Negroponte was for the release."................

Cap,

I stand totally corrected! It appears that the Bush Admin wished to disclose un-translated docs.

(I remember as my daughter's ex-UN based boyfriend, who speaks and translates 9 languages, including arabic: and after I seriously pressured him to get out of unemployment to join a crew translating Saddam doc's, which he refused saying 'I'll never help that bastard Bush')

So, finally the smidgen of meat of the 38000 boxes of docs are finally being released.

BTY, my few hour Google search of the subject uncovered numerous references to our Freeper "jveritas" as instrumental in getting out the truth!

thanks Cap

"I've been terribly disappointed in both the Congressional and WH public relations campaign for years. I understand full well about the press, but honestly, if they can't call FNC and get an interview, or at least hold a HUGE press conference that the media is FORCED to cover, then maybe they really ARE the stupid party"

What the GOP has lacked is a rigorous ideologically-focussed messsage team that kept the conservative flame alive. White House PR was wasted on feel-good messages that over time didnt feel that much good anymore.

Well, a few bright spots:
- Tony Snow is great
- The administration does get out. President Bush on Fox, on Rush, on the campaign trail, and I heard Condi Rice on radio this morning. Of course, they should do it more.
- some of the Republicans leaders are both articulate and conservative. They don't often get on the shows but when they do, it's good.

It's really stupid to claim that posting the translations was harmful to the US security, because the originals have been out there for quite a while, as proved by the translations that were done by a Freeper and posted right here. Does the NYT think that Iran cannot translate Arabic?

More interesting even, than the news about the nuclear capabilities was the document, dated just days after the 9/11 attacks, that stated that Saddam was worried that the US would find out about the Iraq connections to Al Qaeda.

And the NYT, like Senator Kennedy, is reponsible for the death of Americans!

(A little twist on Congressman Shay's remark.)

Agree. The 3rd would have been 1st if he had a "reporter" doing the editing.

What about the NY Times? Have they deigned to acknowledge it? Will they print it?

I hope everyone knows that I love this president and support him 100%, but I'm still really, really disappointed that he doesn't seem to understand the importance of this stuff and even with Tony Snow there, his PR campaign just isn't up to speed.

**
I could have written that statement. I think that the President is so focused on just doing the right thing and not tooting his own horn, that he doesn't realize that the average person is just not paying that much attention and he doesn't really comprehend how the public can be manipulated by the constant negative "reporting" of the MSM.

I think he is concerned more about our troops and our nation's safety than he is the polls.

**
I agree with you, but I think he just does not understand how important it is to keep the public behind your mission. He needs to find ways to outshout the liars in the MSM.

Who could believe that Americans could be so treasonous? Hiding knowledge that Saddam was rebuilding his nuclear program and that Libya was continuing it for him is sufficient to justify the title Treason Media.

Yet another reason to be before the firing squad.

An attack on the enemy's center of power will take careful preparation. Tackling the Treason Media is the most important task facing Conservatives.
