The NYT tries to make clear that the nuclear program notes are from pre 1991:
"But in recent weeks, the site has posted some documents that weapons experts say are a danger themselves: detailed accounts of Iraq’s secret nuclear research before the 1991 Persian Gulf war. The documents, the experts say, constitute a basic guide to building an atom bomb."
But then confusion reigns because the NYT reports that Iraq was a year away from building an atom bomb. Were they talking about 1991 or 2002? This paragraph is unclear:
"Among the dozens of documents in English were Iraqi reports written in the 1990’s and in 2002 for United Nations inspectors in charge of making sure Iraq abandoned its unconventional arms programs after the Persian Gulf war. Experts say that at the time, Mr. Hussein’s scientists were on the verge of building an atom bomb, as little as a year away."

Everyone should email this (and the CNN 2002 story about UK releasing detailed nuke info?). There are two issues here: 1. Saddam had WMD plans and will 2. The supposedly dangerous info on internet (we just have word of NYT that it could not be obtained elsewhere)
It is my belief that this is a preemptive strike by the Times against a larger story coming in the next couple of days, almost a last great act of desperation by the Times to get President Bush before they are totally blown away by something that they are hearing leaks about.
There is no other reason possible why they would come so close to admitting Saddam was even thinking about Nukes much less building one.

Just hearing about this on the morning news. Thank goodness we have patriots like yourself working tirelessly to bring us the real truth. I hope Tony Snow is reading and can put this out quickly.

Does anybody have a recap of how this has been covered on the morning shows? I have only watched F & F, and could have missed it, but I didn't even see them cover the NYT's story at all. Anybody else?
