Penn President Poses with "Suicide Bomber"
Democracy Project ^ | 11/2/06

Posted on 11/02/2006 4:26:57 PM PST by Brian Mosely

University of Pennsylvania president Amy Gutmann threw her annual Halloween costume party at her home Tuesday night. Among the guests was Saad Saadi, who came dressed as a suicide bomber, complete with plastic dynamite strapped to his chest and a toy automatic rifle. Worse, Gutmann posed with Saadi!

An obvious question: would Gutmann have posed with a guest--or even allowed him into her house--if he'd dressed as Adolf Hitler or a Nazi SS officer? A KKK member?

But in modern liberal circles, posing as a Palestinian suicide bomber (see his kefiya) is just fine. After all, he mainly tries to kill innocent Jews.

The other photos of the antics of the "suicide bomber" and others at this party are beyond disgusting.

...or how about a Christian???

I mean how sick can a person get posing with a God fearing heterosexual normal person who has "faith" in God

This picture speaks volumes about their values system

Lighten up. You sound as shrill as some of the libs. Who really cares that much about a stupid costume worn by a college kid? I know a guy who is conservative as they come who went as Osama Bin Laden last year. Nobody who saw him threw a PC hissy fit. We really are becoming a country of whiners who thinkt they have a right to avoid being offended.

You are truly an idiot if you don;t see the difference in an IVY LEAGUE PRESIDENT of a UNIVERSITY hosting this stupid party and not telling him and his other co-terrorist to go home and then the assassination pictures you think are OK?? You must be insane.

This is the same university that almost expelled a student for calling a couple of African-American women "water buffalo"!

Amen bro. Finally some common sense.

Some of the posters suggest calling the cops or beating him up. What the hell for? A dumb Halloween costume?

I dressed as a commando this Halloween including a fake gun (camera attached to paper suppressor). Should I get blown away by the police just walking from dorm to dorm or get beaten up because I look like a terrorist?

How stupid.

What was suggested was that he be asked to leave the party.

Apparently you are neither a jew nor a friend of someone murdered by this type, nor related to anyone whose life is on the line.

This was despicable to any sane adult.

Dang. I found Saad Saadi's personal homepage at UPenn.
http://www.saadsaadi.com/

There was a FacePage album with lots more photos of the party. As I was thumbing through it, it went down. I should have screen cap'd it.

I thought Mel Brook's Hitler was hilarious.

Then again he was attacked by someone who didn't agree.

Why is it ok to dress up as Hitler or Looter guy but not Osama or a homicide bomber? Because we have our own code of PC? What junk. This kind of attitude is how we end up with hate crime laws and PC BS that's stifling freedom, innovation, and common sense.

I'm not going to dress as Steve IRwin, Bin LAden, Hitler, Moihammed, Jesus or anything like that because I don't want to. But I won't begrudge anyone who does and they shouldn't be punished for it.

You are right, I don't have anyone on the line. But even if I did, I'd still feel the same. Because no one has a right to not be offended by penalty of law.

Dress up as SWAT or Delta. That should even the score.

Quote from the guy's website:
Halloween 2006 59 Photos My friend, Jason, and I express our condolences and sympathy to all affected by our costumes. We wish to make it clear that we do not support terrorism, violence, or anything that is against society. There is no agenda or statement associated with our behavior shown in these pictures. The costumes are meant to portray scary characters much like many other costumes on Halloween. Additionally, we strive for all societies to instill healthy and non-violent values.

Location: University of Pennsylvania

Would seem he's just another college kid with no sense or sensibility. Meanwhile universities all over the country try to stifle conservative speech.
