Prosecutors Eye Ann Coulter Voting Probe
Conservative columnist Ann Coulter has refused to cooperate in an investigation into whether she voted in the wrong precinct, so the case will probably be turned over to prosecutors, Palm Beach County's elections chief said Wednesday.Elections Supervisor Arthur Anderson said his office has been looking into the matter for nearly nine months, and he would turn over the case to the state attorney's office by Friday.Coulter's attorney did not immediately return a call Wednesday. Nor did her publicist at her publisher, Crown Publishing.Knowingly voting in the wrong precinct is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.Anderson's office received a complaint in February that Coulter voted in the wrong precinct during a Feb. 7 Palm Beach town council election.

So are all 'threats' of Federal prosecution 'toothless' in your world?
It loses its value if the result is that Ms. Coulter's case is racked and stacked as a felony, and the exculpatory and/or mitigating information is not entered as evidence.
Do you presume that Ann is guilty because she is silent, despite your suggestion that she might be able to provide exculpatory information to the prosecutor?
It's been my experience that when one can make something go away with about two hours of work, but instead leaves it unresolved for nine months because one is making unreasonable demands for special treatment that have absolutely no chance of being met, it's because one is guilty and is searching for a way to get out of the consequences of guilt.
On the national security issue, they are, ever since the Pentagon Papers case.
So....what is your opinion of 'The Pentagon Papers' case?
If the information has any likelihood whatever of preventing a prosecution, what would make it inadmissable? I think it would be a mistake to expect that the prosecutor would do Ann any favors.
Acquittal have been rendered in minutes for cases that prosecutors spent months on. That is because the prosecutor WANTS the defendant to be guilty.
Ask Martha Stewart if silence would have been better.
Only when we stop electing the lowest form of human debris namely lawyers. They are building an empire for themselves that we will never penetrate.
I am in a legal battle right now and all parties agree I am at 0% fault yet because some vile puss maggot attorney sued me for something his client was 100% at fault the best outcome is I win but still out my lawyers fee. A day without a lawyer in the obituary page is like a day without sunshine.
The defendant not entering it comes to mind.
Ask Martha Stewart if silence would have been better.
Telling the truth would've been even better than silence. And the same would obtain for Ann Coulter--unless the truth demonstrates that she's committed a felony, of course.
I wonder how many Palm Beach voters also vote in NYC?
Forgive me, but what races did she have the opportunity to vote on in the wrong precinct then in the one in which she was eligible to vote? I don't know how small the jurisdictions are, but it could be that she fraudulently voted in the wrong dogcatcher race.
Her motivations for this would be her own, I am sure.
You are a former cop - that is scary. You talk of consequences BEFORE charges have been brought and before a conviction. Did you do that when you were a cop? You assume she broke the law before charges have been brought and before any conviction - did they let you carry a gun?
I don't know - maybe we should wait for charges to be brought and a conviction before we make assumptions of guilt - seems they should have taught you that is "cop school".
The fact that her lawyer has refused to do ANYTHING with this unless his non-negotiable demands are met (which they never will be) points away from "innocent" and towards "guilty," unless it's pointing to "too stupid to realize that her lawyer is billing nine months' worth of time for a two-hour job."
Who cares? What part of "illegal" do the Coulter fans not understand?
So you just assume guilt - like I said, it is scary you were a cop if this is your understanding of our judicial system. Your option of the lawyers actions (of which you know very little) is not a basis for guilt or innocence.
unless it's pointing to "too stupid to realize that her lawyer is billing nine months' worth of time for a two-hour job."
First you say her lawyer is doing nothing and then you claim he is billing for nine months - you are just making it up as you go along. Ann Coulter is a Constitutional Lawyer and most likely understands a bit more about the law than an ex-cop. Clearly you dislike Ann but making sh*t up is rather silly.
What part of "innocent until proven guilty" do you not understand?
If she gets prosecuted for this we have a possable means to attack the dems from NY voting in Florida.
>>(and are possibly baiting them).<<
I very much doubt that .
More than likely Ann has just been ignoring them .
It is entirely possible for a lawyer to bill lots of hours and do nothing useful on the case.
Don't be so sure about that. They have two precincts vote at the location where we vote and even though we had to wait in line for over an hour to vote, while the other side of the gymnasium where the other precinct voted, their line usually didn't have anyone in it, BUT they still would not allow people to use the voting machines on the other side.
People like Ann Coulter make very large targets. They commit the sin of being very successful Conservatives. People trash Coulter for various reasons, many merely because she's so thin. Which is a bizarre reason to hate someone so vehemently. I remember when Al Franken sold books by calling Rush fat. Well, Franken is now an utter failure in radio, Rush is as popular as ever, and thin too. Coulter will have the last laugh as well.
