The "bombshell" revelation from last April's National Intelligence Estimate (NIE), which was leaked to the New York Times in September, was that the war in Iraq had resulted in more terrorism, not less. As reported by United Press International's Claude Salhani, "Did we really need 16 intelligence agencies to tell us that? Ten minutes of watching the newscast of your choice, from Al-Jazeera to Fox News, would be enough to convince most observers." But the key question is why the war has provoked the global Jihad.

One answer has to be the influence in the Arab world of the America-
hating network Al-Jazeera. The AIM DVD on "Terror Television" shows film footage of captured terrorists saying they came to Iraq to kill Americans because of the words and images on Al-Jazeera.

"22-year-old arrested in pipe bomb explosion"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "An arrest has been made in Tuesday night's homemade pipe bomb explosion. Allen Marolf, 22, was taken into custody Friday afternoon.

Police said on at least two occasions, Marolf set off pipe bombs in the vicinity of his own home in the town of Turin and near Ryan Lane's home with other youths around.

Man in custody for pipe bomb involvement

A man from the town of Turin has been arrested for endangering the welfare of a child. Allen Marolf, 22, was allegedly involved in the recent pipe bomb explosion that injured Ryan Lane, 16.

Ryan Lane, 16, of Turin, was injured in this recent explosion. State Police said Lane was making the pipe bomb when it exploded in his hand. He remains in critical condition at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.

As for Marolf, he has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possesion of a weapon. He is in the Lewis County Jail with bail set at $6,000."

"New Mexico fairgrounds emptied after low levels of radiation found"

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (CNN) --


ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The objects, one appearing to be a pipe bomb and another that appeared to be a paint can, were found under a car parked near the fairground's fine arts building, Martinez said. One object was marked "nuclear" and the other, "cobalt," he said.

Police believe the radiation was coming from Cobalt 57, a material used in the medical and plumbing industries. Cobalt-57 is a radioactive poison used in biological research. A bomb squad unit and hazardous materials teams were searching the area for any additional devices. (Posted 8:25 p.m.)"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "CHICAGO -- A Unit 5 investigation has prompted new questions about airport security, as NBC5 discovered that O'Hare Airport tops the list of airports with missing security badges and uniforms.

Unit 5's Phil Rogers reported on Monday that he requested documents through the Freedom of Information Act detailing the number of lost badges and uniforms from the Transportation Security Administration.

According to the agency's records from 2005-2006, TSA employees at airports throughout the nation have lost 1,183 badges and nearly 1,000 government-issued uniforms. In Chicago, TSA agents reported 131 missing badges and 11 missing uniforms, Rogers reported -- No. 1 among all U.S. airports.

Iran summoned Buenos Aires' envoy to Tehran in protest over an Argentine judge's request to arrest former President Hashemi Rafsanjani and other officials, state-run radio reported on Sunday.

During a meeting with the charge d'affaires, Ali Eslamian, an Iranian Foreign Ministry official, condemned the Argentine judge arrest requests as an "irresponsible act" and "against legal and judicial procedure," the radio reported. ARTICLE SNIPPET: "MEXICO CITY - A former general manager of one of Mexico's oldest newspapers was found slain in his apartment in the capital Thursday, officials said, a week after he went public with his book criticizing the federal government, the business community and newspaper employees.

Jose Manuel Nava, 53, who was the last top administrator and editor of the Excelsior newspaper when it was still being run as a cooperative, was found by a cleaning lady who entered his apartment, said Mexico City Police Department spokeswoman Patricia Espinoza.

It appeared that Nava had been stabbed to death, said authorities at the scene who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak on the record to the media.

Espinoza said Nava's death was being considered a homicide, but she could not say immediately how he was killed."
