Snip: A father and son from Schenectady, both Turkish immigrants who own several area USA Gas convenience stations, pleaded guilty this week at their federal trial on tax-related charges.
A democracy is a terrible thing to waste
Snip: Our enemy, Islamist fascism, is determined to replace our American civic religion by its own absolutist ideology - Wahhabism. To destroy our civilization, it is ready to go to any length. It has already used homicide bombers, improvised explosive devises, madrassas, Islamic centers and mosques to perpetuate jihad in the U.S. and now is ready to employ the most effective and the most lethal weapon to defeat us our own democracy.
Police sue LA - say gangs are dictating their assignments
Snip: Two Los Angeles police officers sued the city yesterday complaining their superiors took them off gang detail pursuant to a federal consent decree simply because they were so successful at enforcing gang injunctions that gang members filed numerous complaints against them.

"Victims of attack share their story
Crime: 10 arrested after attack on Halloween; $2,500 reward offered for information about other suspects still at large."
By Tracy Manzer, Staff writer
Article Launched:11/03/2006 10:52:39 PM PST
LONG BEACH -
ARTICLE SNIPPET: ""I can't imagine," Barbara said, her eyes shining with tears. "I can't imagine anyone doing that to another human being, or even an animal."
Now the mothers are working with police and imploring the district attorney's office to prosecute the youths as adults and to seek the harshest sentences possible. They have raised $2,500 for a reward fund so far, and are taking more donations in the hope it will spur someone to turn those responsible in to authorities.
Most of all, the girls and their mothers want the three men - who appeared to be in their early 20s - to be arrested.
A team of detectives have been assigned to the case, and the police response has the victims and their families confident that the men will soon be found.
Anyone with information about the suspects or the incident is urged to call police at the Youth Services Division, at (562) 570-1426, or Violent Crimes Division, at (562) 570-7250.
"Anything anyone can do, please help," said one of the mothers. "These people ... they don't belong in society."

Sixteen Pakistanis belonging to Canada, the UK, Gujrat, Gujaranwala, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi were involved in the scandal led by a UK national Pakistani, based in Manchester.
Director General (DG) FIA Tariq Pervez, when contacted, confirmed the report saying the British High Commission in Islamabad identified a Pakistani using a stolen UK visa sticker requesting to bust the gang involved in stealing 900 visa stickers.
Canadian Solberg warns of dangers of integrating illegal immigrants
Snip: There is also concern that if you start down that path that you are putting in jeopardy relations that we have, for instance, with the United States, where they would be very concerned about a plan to `regularize people who have not come through the regular system.
Nuclear proliferation - options in a perfect storm
Snip: Open borders allow the potential transfer of WMD. This requires both the countries that have nuclear materials, such as Kazakhstan and those seeking security such as the EU and the United States to have adequate border control.
WOWSER, that's a lot of visa stickers, MamaDearest.

Polish man pleads guilty to document fraud
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - An illegal alien from Poland, who was a former resident of Garfield, N.J., pleaded guilty here yesterday to felony document fraud by procuring fraudulent Michigan driver's licenses for other illegal Polish aliens living in New Jersey.
Today's guilty plea was announced by U.S. Attorney Margaret M. Chiara, Western District of Michigan, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Special Agent in Charge Brian M. Moskowitz.
Wojchiech Ostrowski, 36, made his guilty plea before U.S. Magistrate Judge Timothy P. Greeley. He admitted that between 2002 and 2004 he repeatedly transported other Polish aliens from New Jersey to the Lansing area and assisted them in unlawfully obtaining Michigan driver's licenses.
Ostrowski also admitted that in addition to transporting the aliens, he helped them complete their driver proficiency tests, provided them with fraudulent Lansing-area addresses to use on their license applications, and directed them to have the Department of State mail the completed licenses to U.S. Post Office boxes rented by the aliens in the Lansing area, solely for the purpose of receiving their licenses. He charged each illegal alien between $1200 and $1500.
"An identification document is often the key to establishing a fictitious identity in order to obtain benefits, and to facilitate criminal and terrorist activity," said Brian M. Moskowitz, special agent in charge of the ICE Office of Investigations in Detroit. "ICE will diligently pursue anyone who produces or sells fraudulent documents, and - with the assistance of the U.S. Attorney's Office - we will prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law."
Possessing driver's licenses with intent to unlawfully transfer them is a five-year felony. A sentencing date has not been scheduled before Chief U.S. District Judge Robert Holmes Bell in Grand Rapids. After serving his sentence, Ostrowski will be processed for deportation to Poland.
The case was jointly investigated by ICE and the Michigan State Police Identity-Theft Unit. The Ingham County Prosecutor's Office and Michigan Department of State (Enforcement Division) also assisted in the investigation.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Hagen W. Frank, Western District of Michigan, prosecuted the case.

Illegal immigration and Mexico's maras
Snip: Like Central Americas illegal migrants, the maras travel from the Mexico-Guatemala border to the US, he explained. Unlike the migrants, they are armed, ruthless and enjoy the support of an organized network that stretches from Honduras into just about every major urban center in the US.
OSHA and CSB investigating death at Georgetown chemical plant
Snip: Multiple investigations are ongoing to figure out what killed one worker and made two others sick at a Georgetown chemical plant over the weekend. The county, the state, and an independent federal agency are all trying to figure out what happened at the 3V Chemical Plant.
I hope those deer aren't eating anything they aren't supposed to.
Interesting links, MamaDearest.
They're fortunate they detected a stolen visa sticker to apprehend someone regarding this theft. If we add up all the uniforms, permits, stickers, badges and vehicles stolen and not recovered, there's enough missing material that presents the serious chance those items could still be used against us given the vulnerability of the TSA and citizens trusting those "in uniform" and "wearing contraband ID badges." Does anyone know if border patrol agent's uniforms are still being sewn in Mexico? Here's the link for that:

An autopsy Sunday will determine how Altman died and whether he was exposed to any chemical materials, but the results might not be available for weeks, said Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson."

Blast near Pakistan army centre
About 10 people are feared dead and 30 injured after an explosion outside an army training centre in north-west Pakistan, according to reports.
The blast took place in the town of Dargai in North West Frontier province when unidentified armed men apparently attacked the base.
Pakistani military spokesman Maj-Gen Shaukat Sultan confirmed there had been an incident but had no further details.
Dargai is said to be a stronghold of a pro-Taleban militant group.
Thanks Cindy. Lots of "fresh" news on the net tonight. More than election results, that's for sure. Post election, the world will keep turning (God willing) and life will go on.
Yep, life goes on.
