The Washington Post ^ | Nov 1, 2006 | William Branigin

Posted on 11/01/2006 4:18:34 PM PST by nvcdl

"Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) issued a new apology today for a "botched joke" that has been interpreted as a slap at U.S. troops, saying he did not intend to disparage any service members....Kerry's office today released the text of his remarks as prepared for delivery at a campaign appearance for Phil Angelides.... According to Kerry's camp, the gaffe occurred when he departed from the prepared text, as he often has done in the past when delivering speeches........."

After reading this article I think the following are possible explanations

Option A - Kerry mangeled a joke about President Bush but is too big a putz to admit a mistake.

Option B - Kerry has had his people concoct a speech "text" that provides cover for his explanation that he really meant to joke at President Bush's expense.

This is the same bunch (Dems, Kerryites, Posties) that ridiculed Ronaldus Magnus for his 3X5 cards ~ and now their guy forgot where his 3X5 cards were.

Not to be believed.

Kerry did not apologize. A blip showed up on his website and probably written by one of his servants. Kerry is in hiding.

"Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) issued a new apology

I must have missed the "old" apology. Last I heard, he wasn't going to apologize to anyone.

IF the GOP doesn't mount a serious challenge to this traitor next time he runs, something is really wrong with this country.

This was no botched joke. That's about as genuine as Teddy-boy's heroic rescue attempt of the young woman he drove into a creek and left to die.

Kerry is and has been a pathological liar, always attempting to puff up his false bravado. What the hell, he buffalo'd nearly half the population of this country in 2004. Just pathetic.

A typical Kerry non-apology Apology; Not his exact words, but his exact meaning:

"I'm sorry you people are too dumb to understand what I meant to say.
I'm a great war hero and I'd never say anything bad about people in uniform.
Bush is an idiot and all the rest of you right wingers are fools."

People laugh at "botched jokes" because you come off looking like a buffoon. No one was laughing at Hanoi Boi. They new he was on another one of his insane rants about the American troops torturing women and children in Iraq? Was that a "botched joke" also? The liberal WaPo sucks. It prints too many lies.

Hey Kerry, you frappin jerk...THIS is how you apologize!

Hello, I'm John Kerry. I said remarks the other day that were wrong. Out of place and rude in their tone and content. I make no excuse for it...they were wrong. I am sorry. I will offer NO caveats. I will blame no one but me.

Thats how you do it you self-absorbed, vicious, liberal Cut-N-Run weasel.

Idiot people bought the "wardrobe malfunction" story, so some will buy the "joke Malfunction" story. Hey Kerry, DO quit your day job.....you have NO humor about you....anywhere.....your Valet ManServant that makes your peanut butter sandwiches is probably more humorous.

"Last I heard, he wasn't going to apologize to anyone."

Well, no doubt he's apologized profusely to a whole national SLATE of Liberal candidates whom he's jeopardized by letting slip his true feelings.

But no, he hadn't initially intended to apologize to those he insulted...

Too little to late. Would not believe the Gospel of St. John from this pathetic piece of crap. He is the lowest of the low.

"Kerry's office today released the text of his remarks as prepared for delivery at a campaign appearance for Phil Angelides, the Democratic candidate running for governor of California against Arnold Schwarzenegger. to the media today... "

There can be no doubt that this was the real text. A handwriting expert certified that "This is the speech I was supposed to give" was written on it in Kerry's own hand writing!

It's pretty difficult for a Republican senatorial candidate to win in Kennedyland.

Who is going to believe this line of bull?

Anyone with a brain is going to know he is just making stuff up now. How dumb does he think the average American is? They will see through this tripe and punish him (the Dems) for it.

Neither, it was a Freudian slip. He has a disdain for the military and his this hasn't changed from the 60's. He dislikes the military and it slipped out for the world to see. Anything else is pure bull$hit.

From what I hear the WaPo barely covered this at all.

As usual from a lib paper, front page article is a criticism of Bush, not anything that's really happening.
