I know the difference, nonetheless I still use the incorrect usage too often...

I unfortunately drop words from a sentence and when I read the sentence back to myself I still "see" the missing words - so I don't fix them. Only when I come back after a minute or two does the misuse or missing word stand out.

So either I comment with my faults or I don't comment at all. So I don't judge others too harshly on that front...

Yep. It's a mistake I make often, but in this case, coming from a journalist who earns a living by writing, it's inexcusable, even more so when the article is about stupid people who don't go to collage.
