However, there's no doubt that's Kerry's attitude toward the troops.

You need to rethink your initial remarks around this basic fact (above). Yes, Kerry's remark could be interpreted as a hit on Bush. But Kerry and his team are astute enough to know it could be interpeted as a hit on the troops. I suggest his blow up at today's press conference today shows he/they just don't care how it's been taken. They want it both ways.

When someone bends over with a "Kick Me" sign on their ass, you just gotta take a shot...

But with Kerry, you have to worry about his head being in the way.

Looks like Kerry was reading this year-old article from the Austin American Mis-Statesman.....

Sadly, many now think the military is for losers

"But there is something ominously wrong with a democratic nation that protects its affluent youth from harm, and from service, while putting disadvantaged young people into a meat grinder overseas. There is something disturbing about a nation that beats the drum of patriotism but lets its most privileged young people believe that military service is for losers." - Gary Chapman, REGULAR CONTRIBUTOR Monday, November 07, 2005

Don't tell us that the left hasn't been immersed in this thinking for YEARS.

Yes. I'm cross-posting this all over the place...but there ya go.

Question..did Boehner say on Gibson's show that the GOP would "beat Kerry like a dead horse with his comments until he apologized to the troops?" I was at the door with the trick-or-treaters and thought I heard him say that..Nice to have a FIGHTING MAJORITY LEADER...best line I've heard since Dick Armey's "Barney Fag"

If you study hard,do your homework and try to be smart, you can do well enough that we democrats can tax you into oblivion. If you are a poorly educated slacker you can come to Massachusetts relax in our social safety net and send a couple morons to the senate.

Even if he was talking about Bush (which I don't believe he was) it is still an insult to lampoon a situation that has cost US almost 3000 of our best, brightest and bravest. Kerry still needs to apologize. This really is a lose/lose for the loser.

I heard President Bush's response LIVE and IN PERSON!!!! IT WAS WONDERFUL!!!!! The whole speech was! I was down in front, not 20 feet from the podium. (to give you an idea of how close I was, the AP photos on the wire look about the same as mine... they were taken right in front of me).

As he finished up the speech and was shaking hands and signing autographs, a lady a few down from me yelled "We love you, Mr. President!" and he looked right at her and pointed and said, "I'm coming down there!" We all got excited. As he came down the line, he shook lots of hands, including mine, and then when he got to her, he gave her a kiss on the cheek. She was beside herself for the next few minutes!

God bless this wonderful man!!!! I'm so glad he's our President!

From Kerry's senate.gov web page (barf alert):

As he was graduating from Yale, John Kerry volunteered to serve in Vietnam, because, as he later said, "it was the right thing to do." He believed that “to whom much is given, much is required.” And he felt he had an obligation to give something back to his country.

Sorry, I can't take Kerry at his word. Evidently this belief isn't seared into his memory or he would know that the men and women who serve in the all-volunteer armed forces are patriots, and not uneducated dupes.

Kerry's words are revealing (once again). Many a truth is said in jest, and the truth is that Kerry has no respect for the military beyond his own puffed-up service. Had he been elected, his presidency would have been worse that anyone could have imagined.
