Jacko' Lantern by James ruffini

 

Place a candle deep within,

to show the Jacki' lantern's grin.

Set him outside on the front stair,

or in the window to give a good scare.

He'll greet Trick or Treaters of the night,

with his great jagged teeth and fiery eyes.

The little ghosts, and angels, and monsters all,

will be guided up the steps to the front door,

where they will fill their sacks and buckets of candy,

with a "Trick or Treat" and a "Thank you" handy.

Then they'll turn to bid adieu to the pumpkin of light,

who guides them back down to the street in the night.

you know Eleanor, in my past attempts, the fresh pumpkin NEVER tasted as good to me as the canned. It was much easier, actually more reasonable, & my chances of slicing my fingers are a lot less w/can opener than big/sharp knife needed to get thru the tough outer layer

Hi Fein! this looks like a scene with my two dogs going through.. wrecking crew they are! The cats (most of mine are clumsy) do their share but nothing can tear things apart more quickly than Josy & Toby charging around the house. Heaven help me on the days they don't get worn out w/long outdoor romp
