you know Eleanor, in my past attempts, the fresh pumpkin NEVER tasted as good to me as the canned. It was much easier, actually more reasonable, & my chances of slicing my fingers are a lot less w/can opener than big/sharp knife needed to get thru the tough outer layer

I cannot buy the tinned pumpkin in Ashford or at least the stores in Ashford I go to.

So my only option is fresh, cannot comment on taste difference as have only tasted tinned once when a friend of mine who visits the States often on business made a pumpkin pie with it. It was lovely from memory but cannot remember the difference to the fresh if any in taste.

I can buy Libby's over the internet but with postage that gets very expensive so a pumpkin that cost about 1.80 dollars and gives me about 6 cups seems fairly cost effective - what are the prices in the US like?
