We had a great time at the rally and dinner Saturday in Chico!! And I think the people there were glad to see us too! I'm sure it gets tiresome to see the left out protesting week after week. Thank God we have Son of SoldierDad out supporting our troops every week, but it's hard doing it all alone. Lots of people honked, waved or gave us a thumbs up as they motored past and we had lots of pedestrians stop to thank us and talk to us too. One family even stopped and held signs and flags for a half our or so. Hoping maybe some of the Chico residents will start joining Son of SoldierDad in his lonely weekly support our troops vigil.
We really enjoyed meeting SoldierDad and family and it was an honor to stand with them in support of their soldier son and brother in Iraq and our troops! May God Bless and protect them all. We are so grateful for their service for our country and for our freedom.

:)
Hi cybercowboy777. Glad to hear from you. I'm not a Chico native, but a transplant from circa 1964. My father was in the USAF, and we moved around a lot.
Age?
Boy, am I BUMMED. Been around FR since '98. Don't post much but I am a serious lurker and I never saw anything about this rally or I'd have been there. I'm here in Chico so ping me or freepmail me if you have any more get togethers. BUMMER
We will most certainly give you a ping for the next one. FYI, my son stands on that corner almost every Saturday from around 12:00 noon to around 3:00pm. If you have a free Saturday please feel free to stop by and say hi, or even join him.
Will do and thanks
I missed the boat on this one. I live within an hours drive and I would have been there if I had known about it.
Use this next time there is anything planned in Chico.

I was born in Chico @ Enloe Hospital.
Then we moved around a lot (My dad was in the USN).
After 12 years in the Navy, we moved back to Chico and then to Durham. Live there 6 years and then move to Washington.
My grandparents still lve in Durham and own rentals in Chico.
Good job, SD, that you and your family and "FRiends" did to support your troop, as well as the rest of the troops.
Hehehe, My younger son was born in Enloe also...my oldest son, daughter in law and 2 grandsons live in Durham!
I enjoyed the years I lived in Chico...but choose to live where I love it best..Atlanta
