WASHINGTON -- Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., plans to announce Monday that he's considering a presidential run in 2008, according to a Republican official.
Hunter is the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee -- a position he would lose if Democrats take control of the House after the Nov. 7 election.

Hmmmmm......your point?
He better explore alot. I never heard of him. Hopefully he gets some national exposure if he is indeed the right person for President.
For example, he is the guy who nailed CNN recently with a question asking "whether CNN wants US to win against terrorists"......
I would find it hard to name a few who are stronger than him on defense issues.
No not at all, I just don't like his style. He seem like the type of guy that likes to jump in on the media feeding frenzy bandwagon "outrage of the week" type of guy... If he were really against this sort of thing he would have been doing everything he could SINCE 1998 to get the law changed about the COSCO deal and bringing attention to it(like Tancredo has done about immigration)
but Hunter really doesn't care about it I guess...?
Oh boy.....quite a bit to say about Duncan.
I know him to be a great Patriot and a guy who is extremely strong on Defense and national security issues.
Tying him the MSM feeding frenzy bandwagon is unbelievable.
he was worried about Dubai giving Iran "nuclear components", well he better he really worried because China is allowing North Korea to build nukes to destroy California...
LOL! And he hasn't been called "jumping on a media bandwagon?"
If you don't like his style that's one thing, just look at the issue.
Can you show me one report/article/statement (or whatever else) where he was in favor of China's arms dealings, especially with DPRK. Worse, show me how he was ever in favor of nuclear proliferation involving China and/or DPRK.
He was against the Dubai ports deal. I personally was not that worked up on the issue. But, how does that make him pro-China and pro-DPRK???? Don't see the connection.
heheheheheheehehe!
Good point!
BTW, he was also the guy who wanted to nuke Mecca.
Tancredo talked out about it when it was taboo to do so before
it became "popular in the media"(I dont think he is Presidential material either but I respect him more)
Echo Talon was an FR poster boy supporting the deal. My guess was he was checking for consistency? Next Echo Talon will call him a xenophobe (remember?), yet he himself isn't so sure of those on the Asian peninsula.

Solid conservative!

No, and I never said that was "pro China", just not very effective thats all.
yea, its ok or Communist China who is letting North Korea build nukes but not for Dubai who is fighting along side us in Afghanistan... hmmm
Seems like your beef is that he did not take over control of US policy as a dictator and prevent the China deal from happening.
Well, Since 1998 what has he done to try and reverse the policy? can you tell me that?
LOL! yea, its ok.
