At 5:00 p.m. EST today, Fox News will render perhaps its most important public service this election season: It will broadcast on "The Big Story" program the first half of an extraordinary documentary - Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West. The second half will be aired in the same time slot next week, four days before what promises to be a hugely consequential election.
Obsession's subject matter could hardly be more topical and the timing of these broadcasts more providential. The film describes the nature, objectives and ideological roots of the totalitarian movement that currently poses the most immediate and a potentially catastrophic threat to America and the rest of the Free World: Islamofascism. It does so in a way that not only informs its viewers of the danger we face but compels them to reflect upon the risks associated with inaction - or, worse yet, appeasement - in the face of such a threat.
The filmmakers combine three elements to make Obsession exceptionally compelling. First, an array of profoundly knowledgeable and articulate experts provide historical and strategic context to the phenomenon of this violent theo-ideology. They include: the Center for Security Policy's Senior Mideast Fellow, Caroline Glick; historian Sir Martin Gilbert; former Hitler Youth Group Leader Alfons Heck; columnist and researcher Daniel Pipes; investigator Steven Emerson; former federal prosecutor John Loftus; journalist Brigitte Gabriel; and Professor Robert Wistrich.
Second, anti-Islamist Muslims and former Muslims provide powerful first-hand testimonials about the nature of Islamofascism as seen through the eyes of those most immediately at risk from its violence and repression: the Islamists' peaceable, tolerant co-religionists. Among the incredibly powerful contributions from this group were comments by: Canadian professor and columnist Salim Mansur (a featured participant in the Center's Muslim Speak Out program); Nonie Darwish, the daughter of a suicide-bomber; Walid Shoebat, a former PLO terrorist; Palestinian journalist Khaled Abu Toameh; Pakistani expat and editor Tashbiy Sayyed; and California-based Professor Khaleel Mohammed.
Perhaps the most evocative material of all, however, is provided by the Islamofascists themselves, in the form of footage taken directly from various television broadcasts from around the Muslim world. These scenes have been compiled by two formidable organizations, the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) and Palestinian Media Watch, and feature various imams, talking heads and political figures exhorting their audiences to bring "Death to America" and legitimizing the destruction of Christians and Jews and their societies. The point is unmistakable: Such virulent propaganda is being broadcast incessantly on such official outlets as Saudi, Iranian, Qatari and Palestinian television and Hezbollah's TV network, al Manar, cultivating among particularly young people the most extreme sorts of jihadist sentiment - including the notion of murderous self-sacrifice for Allah.
In a television advertisement aired in six states this Fall, the Center has urged every voter to cast his or her ballot as though their lives depend on it - for indeed they do. Viewing Obsession is a prerequisite to understanding just how literally that is the case, and to the evaluation of which candidates most clearly understand, and are best equipped to deal with, the danger posed by Islamofascism and its enablers.
That is a powerful ad.

I bought my copy last month, and it is still sitting here in the wrapper. I keep meaning to watch it. Thanks for reminding me.

No, I missed the thread..and missed the show.
I have a granddaughter spending the night tonight...
She is watching a "The Munsters" night on TV...so no Fox for me tonight.
thank you!
Missed this today. Hope they will rerun it!
Thanks for that ping. It would behoove us all to distribute copies of this documentary to our friends and family.
Done.
Ping.
Setting my TiVo.
Dang, first half was yesterday.
I just gave my dad an upgrade to his satellite for an early Christmas gift and the very first channel he went to was Fox News, praise the Lord.
I especially appreciate their Timeline page, and have sent a link to the Trailer and Clips page to Democrat family members. I have printed out a graphic of the DVD cover along with their Web site address (and one of the quotes below) in large font, bold print, and I plan to tape it to my sorting case at the P.O. tomorrow morning.

The truth is powerful. From the Praises and Press page:
"[Obsession] is extremely well done and will scare the living hell out of anyone who watches it."

Editor, FamilySecurityMatters.org"The root of virtually all evil is lies. If the Germans were not told lies, there would not have been a Holocaust. The Islamic world is today also steeped in lies about the West. And that is the major source of the evils emanating from that world. Now, finally, thanks to Obsession, the West can see and hear those lies."

Every brain-dead member of Congress should be made to watch "Obsession."

Maybe Fox will air this again back to back. Every station should air this . It is a must see. Every American Young and Old should See this before they head out to the Voting Booth. It should be a Requirement Before Voting.I saw this a few months back as well. It just made me believe even more how Important the War on Terror is.
I have heard Hannity talk about this awhile back on his radio show
