A secular progressive gain.
Non denominational? Did they receive a large donation from some sheik?
Georgetown University is now a madrassa thanks to this practice as far as I'm concerned.

Unbelievable. Essentially trying to erase history and tradition.

Ruh-Roh!
All the siblings younger than me went to W&M. They're not FReepers, so might have missed the news.
I'll have to alert them to beotch to their alumni organizations, but I doubt it'll have an effect.

Not the first time we've erased history. Pretty soon there will be no past.....except for the one that has been rewritten.

WM is free to go secular if they want and I'm certainly free not to send my kids there.

"Our chapel," he wrote, "like our entire campus, must be welcoming to all." Apparently to all but Jesus

The great philosopher S. Dan once wrote, "William and Mary won't do now," inexplicably prophesying this abominable heresy.

Just another step on the road to eliminating Christianity completely from the USA.
The left is having its way and is having a lot of success.
When Christianity and Judaism are totally eliminated, as the left wishes, then the way will be wide open for another ideology to replace them.

As W & M was founded by Royal Charter and was funded by a collection from every diocese in England, it was a religious institution of higher learning. Our Army was never part of an established church. But God bless everyone who serves.

The cross is removed to a storage closet but guards at Guantanamo wear gloves when handling the Koran lest their infidel hands dishonor it. So which religion has more status in America?

Large pictures and a tour on this page: inside the Wren
History is just something to run away from now. Of course when it was founded it was both Anglican and state supported.

It appears Willam and Mary officials have decided they would rather have a curse than a blessing.

Non denominational? Did they receive a large donation from some sheik? IMO,it's more likely that they're looking for a donation from America's richest atheist,George Soros.

Why couldn't they instead build a separate non-denominational chapel? The existing chapel (judging by the photo in post #34) is clearly laid out like a Christian church. Removing the cross only takes the most visible Christian symbol out, and doesn't change the basic nature of the chapel.
This is stupid. They should leave the Christian chapel as-is, and build another one that is devoid of symbols if they want one like that. Besides, I was raised Protestant, and I'd have a hard time worshiping in a chapel that didn't have a cross in it.

The cross is now kept in a nearby storage closet, near communion wine bottles and other religious articles. Heaven forbid one should be forced to look upon religious articles in a chapel
