With withering and methodical dispatch, White House nemesis and prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald yesterday sliced up the first person called to the stand on behalf of the vice president's former chief of staff.
If I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was not afraid of the special counsel before, the former Cheney aide, who will face Fitzgerald in a trial beginning Jan. 11, had ample reason to start quaking after yesterday's Ginsu-like legal performance.

Oh, Murry Mom has been around for years singing the same old lefty refrain.
I sorta enjoy her leftward ho! tirades, so let's leave her be.
Of course, I could be wrong.
MurryMom is our pet liberal. Sortof a mascot.
Liberals say the cutest little things sometimes.
I don't know if "Zone Out Troll" or "Zap Out Troll!!!". I believed it originally came from a game...
And so Scooter ends up a surrogate for Karl and Dick and the little bloodthirsty libs do a war-dance and congratulate themselves on the big kill. Pardon me if I observe that there's not a whole lot of meat on that sparrow's carcass. Portioned out among the DNC the meal is going to look as empty as Kerry's campaign fund or Hillary's soul. Filling the tummy on hot air doesn't offer a lot of nutrition and you always end up venting it out the nether orifice that is the Washington Post in the form of this flatulent little offering. Nothing a squirt of air freshener won't cure.
So what happens after Scooter gives you the slip? The Humane Society will frown on your kicking the dog. Maybe we'll take up a collection for a Bug Zapper for your Fitzmas present.
Brilliant!
You mean the 16 terrorists that he pardoned in 1999, or the flood of pardons as he left office for drug smugglers, drug dealers, bank robbers, counterfeiters, tax evaders, defrauders, embezzlers, car thiefs, and even a couple of dirtbags that rolled back the odometers on used cars?
Yeah, pardoning a staffer that forgot a conversation with a reporter should be grounds for impeachment. /sarc
I just realized that fat bastard pardoned Patty Hearst. Must've missed that.
"Ginsu-like legal performance."
Ginsu was a made up name to sell a product. As such, I would accept the premise.
Dr. Loftus is not one of your usual "just make some stuff up" psychologists. Her expertise is experimental, not clinical, and she may well be America's leading expert on the reliability of memory in eye-witness testimony.
If she is disqualified as an expert, that might be grounds for an appeal in the event of a contrary verdict.
Scooter will be pardoned before then. Really after the election Bush will figure "what do I have to lose?" You might as well get it out of the way well before the next election and more importantly, it's the right thing to do.
Gee, reading this article, I was waiting for reporteress Carole Leoning to note that "cheers broke out from the press section" at the conclusion of the witness grilling.
Hey, Washington Post: when are you going to stop cheerleading this cr*p? Why don't you go back to the repeated Macaca-fest?
How many times during Whitewater and other Clinton scandals and hearings did we hear from the First Lady and other Clintonistas "I have no recollection of that... I don't think you'll find a shred of evidence of that... I don't recall where those billing records are or were..."
Fitzgerald is a liar and a leftie hit man- why is he still being allowed to torture Libby in this NON-case?
Loftus is at the top of her field.
She has been instrumental in some of the reversals of the demonic daycare abuse cases made from coached memories from kids 15 years after the supposed abuse.
She's our pet 'rat. We barely tolerate her. She knows that and is very careful not to squeak too loud or too often. The viking kitties watch her every move.
