Iraq War Veteran Blasts Mahoney For Trying To Keep Military And Overseas Voters In The Dark
Joe Negron for Congress (Florida - CD 16) ^

“Tim Mahoney should be ashamed,” says Corporal Snyder

STUART, FL – Iraq War veteran Corporal David Snyder, United States Marine Corps, today blasted Democrat Tim Mahoney for his campaign’s efforts to keep military and overseas voters in the dark about their ballots. The U.S. Departments of Defense and State yesterday took steps to educate voters overseas that a vote for former Rep. Mark Foley is actually a vote for Joe Negron. According to today’s Miami Herald, “Officials from the campaign for Negron's Democratic challenger, Tim Mahoney, are livid over the correspondence.”

“Tim Mahoney should be ashamed of his disgraceful efforts to keep our fighting men and women overseas in the dark about their election ballots,” stated Corporal Snyder, who fought in Iraq as a part of the initial invasion in 2003. “They are risking their lives overseas in the fight against terrorism. And how does Tim Mahoney repay them? By fighting to keep them as confused as possible about their ballots.”

Corporal Synder added that, while news surrounding the 16th Congressional District election is making news across America, the issue is not top-of-mind for those fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. “I should know – I was there,” he said. “Marines and soldiers have more important things to worry about than a disgraced former congressman and what their ballot might look like.”

“Soldiers and Marines deserve to be informed about that ballot, just as much as any voter living in the 16th Congressional District – maybe even more so, said Corporal Synder. “Their votes should not be forgotten about, and neither should they. Tim Mahoney may not support the war in Iraq – that is his right. But if he is not even thinking about the troops now, what would he do in Congress?”

Good move by Negron. I suggested it a while ago. Now he should conflate Mahoneys actions with those of the democrat party in the 2000 election and hang it around Mahoneys neck.
