Talk about cajones: FreeRepublic.com's Kristinn Taylor's got 'em. How so? the conservative website led the outcry against the once popular country band Dixie Chicks when singer Natalie Maines screeched how she hated that President Bush hailed from Texas. Well, last week at the Washington première of the Chicks' decidedly anti-Free Republic documentary, Shut Up and Sing, Taylor showed up. But he wasn't kicked out, reports our Elizabeth Green. The hosts at the lefty Center for American Progress invited him to join the group discussion, where he told the director the movie was a good one.
Why go? "This was a chance," he tells us, "to see it for free."
This thread's a good one. You or management want to bump the thread to Breaking or Front Page?
Christian Taylor disagreed with most of these remarks. He denounced what he called the elitist attitudes expressed by the band, arguing that their criticism of President Bush does not appeal to the average country music fan. He also denied that the bands members received a disproportionate amount of criticism because of their gender. When his fellow bloggers [FR is NOT a blog, maddoggit!] were accused by audience members of bias, he said that politics has been rough and nasty well before FreeRepublic.com.
apologies to Carl Rove
Do you have to actually have "Minion" rating to get an account? I've been missing meetings lately and was downgraded to "Shill". (If I don't make by African-American voter suppression quota this November I'm apt to be dropped to "Dupe".)
Well, I only made it ten minutes in.
Too much postmodernism and emotional bids for me. The audience behaved though, as far as I saw, good for them.
They were close!
She's not ready for prime time. But she IS pretty doggone cute.
How a bout a one line movie review?
Wuz it Fair and Balanced?
Beautifully done, as always an excellent spokesman for the right....
"to see it for free."
LOL!! Great job Kristinn!!
What app or client it playing it? When I just open the webpage they link it's a Real Player imbed, but it seems to be trying to play a Quicktime file and I get a message that a Real Player update to handle the media is not available. The direct link seems to be:
http://quick21nj.audiovideoweb.com/nj21quick1503/events/2006/2006_10_17_Shut_Up_and_Sing/ShutUpandSingPanel.mp4
"Rovian Mind Control (TM)."
Woo hoo!! I've GOT to get me one of these!
And the article on the U.S.News and World Report website links directly to Free Republic, and goes to this thread below... be prepared for more trolls outraged that their beloved twits are dissed so thoroughly.
Not Ready to Make Nice (Dixie Chicks in Australia, STILL Whining About Free Republic)

'...on a DUFU thread three times, or IB4P once.'
What are these acronyms please.
It is located on the 331/3 block of Tinfoil Ave.
When you go in, go to the cash register manned by the guy who looks like this...
and order the Bohemian Grove Combo -- Large -- With a Dr. Pepper.
Further instructions will be on your receipt.
Thanks
For me, it opens in Quicktime. I don't use the bloatware/adware/spyware Real Player.
I'm saving my money so I can open a sweat-shop in Sri Lanka (where cheap plastic land-mines will manufactured for third-world dictators) in the hope of being upgraded to "Corporate Parasite". In the meantime I'll be working closely with Diebold in their effort to disenfranchise minorities and the poor.
