I Stand by My Comment That If Democrats Win, the Insurgents Win

Wednesday, October 25, 2006 By John Gibson

E-mailers are hammering me today for saying something provocative yesterday.

I said: "If Democrats who hate Bush and who hate the war in Iraq win, the insurgents win. I'm sorry, but it's true. America will set a date to get out and jihad will have carried the day."

I'll repeat: Sorry, but it's true.

Democrats like John Kerry and John Murtha want a date to get out, and they are going to be difficult to deny if the Dems win. It isn't going to be reasonable to expect the moderate Dems to hold off the wild-eyed lefties if the wild-eyed lefties are the ones who mobilize the left to get out and vote. They are going to insist on their precious withdrawal date, and they will get it. And the insurgents will have won a great victory.

snip

What's so hard to figure out about this?

Democrats — OK, correction — leftists want America out of Iraq and so does bin Laden's insurgency. Iraqis may want us to stay to protect them from each other but that is not going to matter to the "let's redeploy now" crowd.

Look, I understand why people are unhappy with the war and don't like the way it has turned out. But there has to be some perspective here....

Dim morons aside, in what the hell kind of war, does one publish ones strategy?

I've never heard anything as insane as this insistence on a time table. The WH can be holding Iraqi government feet to the fire 24/7 for all I care as long as it is behind the scenes.

I am furious, speechless, p!ssed etc. Early voted today - straight "R". Used to split my ticket a little anyway. That is the backlash their outrageous behavior has created.

It's way beyond disagreeing with the left's politics - they are literally too dumb and dangerous to be in power.

If Democrats Win, the Insurgents Win

And nukes will be used against America from forces in that part of the world, probably within 20 years, maybe a lot less. But then, that's what democrats want, too.

Good for John Gibson for sticking to his guns, he's exactly right. If the Dems take the majority back in Congress they will give al Qaeda and islamo fascists a victory.

I know how you feel. Sometimes I feel like we're fighting by the PC rules. But I also have a feeling that, regardless of the outcome of the mid-term elections, Bush is going to open a can of whoop-a$$ in Iraq. Again, it's just a feeling.

Why is it that the democrats always seem to side with our enemies?

Because they are Liberals. Liberalism is the modern American political representation of Utopian socialism. This ideology judges itself only by its promises and its opposition (Republican capitalism) by its flaws. We have enemies - therefore, it must be because of our failings. In this view, our flaws invalidate our (Western) culture and society. It is thus natural for Liberals to identify with our enemies because they share a belief in their own society's invalidity. We are presumptively guilty, yet no amount of failure ever serves to condemn those who oppose us.

The ideology embodied in Liberalism also denies objective value - no right and wrong except as how it serves the Utopian ideal. Liberals cannot bring themselves to honestly condemn Islamic fascism for its blatant violence because that violence is frequently directed against our presumptively invalid society, and who, then, are we to judge?

Liberalism is in many respects, a mental illness, and as Burnham observed more than 40 years ago, it is the Ideology of Suicide.

You also have to add to the equation the fact that the Arabs have lived in the stone age and have been goat herders for thousands of years. They have to be retrained for any task over and over on a daily basis. Besides the fact that these have lived under a tyrant all over their lives with no free will. Most Americans have no clue what we are really dealing with over there.

The Socialists that took over the Democrat Party starting with FDR, do not believe in our Constitutional Republic nor even Democracy.
That is the reason they like all "for life dictators" like Fidel Castro.
They want to be just like him, they will be in tears when he dies.

This is what the election is about. Given the opportunity, the Democrats will surrender to the Islamofascists; no "if"s, "and"s, or "but"s.

The leftist Democrats taking charge right now would be a disaster for America

Have you ever noticed that there is a direct correlation between what a leftist wants, and whether or not it's good for America? On virtually any question, from whether we should adopt Kyoto, to supporting abortion, to tax policy, or Iraq, if it's good for America, then a leftist is against it, and vice-versa.

This explains why it is possible to argue about "taxing the rich", and how that will hurt the economy, and completely prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that it's a bad idea, yet the leftist will still be for it. Why? Because doing the best for the economy and helping his fellow citizens isn't what a leftist wants. It's the destruction of the hated United States that they really want.

I didn't believe that it was possible that leftists could harbor such deep hatred for the country until a Christmas party a few years ago. A co-worker, after having a few adult beverages, was commenting about a TV show that portrayed a part of America when he proclaimed loudly, "I hate this country, I really do". He repeated it several times, and his reason for hating the country? A dumb TV show.

Leftists won't generally admit it. But like Madeline Albright who lamented that it was a bad thing that the US was the only superpower, they really, truly, genuinely hate this country. If you understand that fact, then everything they say and do will then make perfect sense to you.

I think that the problem is that federalism isn't working because both military and the police have not been fully trained and indoctrinated into the idea that politics and religion don't have to be the same thing. There is no freedom of religion in an Islamic state (even between sects) and Islam is the state in Muslim countries.

Our Revolutionary War fighters had less to work with, but prevailed.

Our Revolutionary War lasted eight years(1775-1783). Iraq was ruled by Hussein for twenty five years. No one should be surprised if it takes 8-25 years to stabilize Iraq.

I think there's a lot of truth in your statement. The Democrat Party is definitely an anti-American, anti-sovereignty, anti-freedom party.

Gibson is dead on correct!! It is not just Iraq and Afghanistan, the danger goes way, way beyond that although that loss would be bad enough. A return the Clinton Era of proper rhetoric, huffing and puffing and then sitting down to rest while paying the bad guys off would be a disaster worldwide. In addition to Iraq, Iran, and North Korea there are numerous spots just hoping for an isolationist US foreign policy.

Indonesia has released many of the terrorists they had in jail along with the infamous Cleric Bashir. Things are really heating up in the entire region.

Somalia and Sudan hope to take Chad, Eritria, Ethiopia, and Kenya with them into an Islamic paradise.

Nepal is months away from a Maoist takeover. South and Central America are looking a what Hugo, Evo and Lula have accomplished.

France is yet having riots that show no sign of improving and 25% of British Muslims support terrorism against their own government.

With our vote by mail here in Oregon, I have voted Republican as have most of my friends. This is not a good time for Nancy Pelosi to speak for America (if any time is good). We need leadership even more firm than what we have but any weakening would be a calamity.
