Democratic control of the House, with the inevitable ensuing subpoenas and investigations, will be a "good thing," ABC News veteran Sam Donaldson declared on Sunday's This Week. During a roundtable discussion on how Republicans are trying to scare their base into voting by warning of how liberals will take over key committee slots if Democrats will the House, Donaldson predicted: "What we'll see is subpoenas, if they take control, and these subpoenas will delve into every nook and cranny of the Republican administration for the last six years." That prompted Cokie Roberts to point out: "Well, now you're doing the Republican talking points, because that is exactly what the administration is making people fear." Donaldson wondered: "Why do you think I'm saying it's a bad thing?" And he made clear: "I think it's probably a good thing

No doubt it will be the end of the world.

What specifically does he think should be investigated? We've already had the 9/11 investigation, the investigation of Iraq war intelligence, the Plame investigation, etc. Does he want to do all those over again until he gets the result that he wants?
I'm sure that will be OK, with them and you, as long as it can be George W. Bush's fault or the corrupt Republicans.
They can create something.
He is; no one told him to lay down.
When Sam used to come on Hannity's radio show, he showed what a self-important liberal a-hole he is. He was always talking down to everyone and I think that he only came on because no one else would provide him a public forum to be pompously patronizing. I am happy that he doesn't come on any more. Maybe he should go play shuffleboard with Rather and Kronkite.
You got to remember, when Sam was an active White House reporter and Reagan was still the Prez, Sam gave a speech at a dinnner in Texas in which he said "Reagan is a clown."
Reagan a Clown? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!
HAd this been a conservative making a similar statement about a lib, well you know ......

The GOP in the congress has no one to thank but themselves. Other than two fine appointments to the SC, on balance they have been less than stellar. If that's the kind of gov't you want, go ahead and keep trumpeting them. I'd vote for Pres Bush in a heartbeat if he were running again. As far as some of the GOP incumbents, I don't care if they get tossed overboard. That is the only way we will ever have a chance to replace them with someone better.
Ok, so lets look at the situation. Most conservatives would agree that the house republicans did their part, besides an analysis of all the close house races would take too long. So lets look at the Senate. Below is a list of the tight races that incumbant Republicans could lose along with their ACU (American Conservative Union) Rating. A 100 is a perfect canservative voting record.
Kyl - 100
Talent - 84
Burns - 100
Dewine - 56
Santorum - 92
Chaffee - 12
Allen - 100
So I'll give you Chaffee, he is a liberal and maybe Dewine. But that leaves five solid conservstives that you are helping to defeat by your moaning. If they lose, I doubt you will get any better in the future. I think the ones that are making you angry aren't even running this year.
The only chance we have of improving the gov't is getting rid of what we have. I'm not moaning about anything and I doubt if anyone besides perhaps you cares much what I think, much less votes based on that. The truth is, I believe, with perhaps one handful of exceptions, all of our elected politicians in congress, GOP and DIM, are nothing but a bunch of self serving, pompous turds and I wouldn't vote for any of them. As long as people keep voting for them because they are the least repugnant choice, we will have them. From a practical standpoint, I'll be voting in CA. so my situation is easy. I'll support virtually any GOP candidate in CA running for national office because a corpse would be a dramatic improvement. Although I won't vote for the dim challenger, I doubt if I will cast a vote for the govinator. I'd rather leave the slot empty to show my lack of support.
Frankly, I really don't care what you think - I'm thinking the 51 in your screen name probably represents the number of cards in the deck you are playing with - I do wish you would leave Conservative forums and join the Anarchy ones, where you would be better appreciated.
If you don't care what I think, why would you keep responding and why would you get irate and insulting just because I don't accept your own view of things? Grow up.
I didn't even know this guy was still around.
