Interesting and a cause for concern.

McCaskill's internals have her slipping. She has a new ad out where her mother complains about Jim Talent using negative advertising.

Winners don't complain about their opponent's ads, they stay on the attack.

Those all look about right to me, with the caveat that Missouri always seems to be a toss-up.

Aren't these all "registered voter" samples? I'm pretty sure the PA poll is.

I am highly suspicious of all polls at this point for several reasons:

Poller bias
Respondant falsification of preference
Biased samples (e.g., don't most educated people have call screening now? Do you still answer when the little window says, "Unknown Caller"?)

I hope my suspicions turn out to be true. I do remember the 80s governors race in Michigan where the Dem. Blanchard had some huge lead going into the election. He was beaten by the Rep. Engler in a landslide.

I don't get this one. I suspect that many of the state's moderate democrats will vote for McGavick but don't want to tell the pollsters.

Actually, if you take the history of polls in recent elections, if the republican is losing by 5 points he's a shoe in. Losing by 10 is cause for concern, if he's winning it's a landslide.
