Polls this week should show if Brown's tax problem will hurt his campaign.

What tax problem are you referring to? Also, what makes you think Steele has the momentum?

I can't believe Brad Henry is beating the spit out of Rep. Istook? Henry sounds like Mister Rogers and thinks like Forrest Gump. And where the hell has Istook been? I've heard one silly commercial back in August and that's it.

Much of the blame for Brad Henry falls at the feet of RINO Richardson for splitting the GOP away from Largent in 2002. All for the right to gamble?

Let that be a lesson to the Reform Party GOP that say they will bolt from the party on Election Day. Eight years later you'll be complaining about Reid and Pelosi's reversal of GOP hard fought victories and the domestic/foreign policies of Clinton.

Ohio State will not upset Michigan next month.

It will be impossible for Ohio State to upset Michigan as OSU will be favored in that game.

Isn't Missouri the state where Acorn had been so successful in registering fake voters and then used Soros money to defeat a voter ID law?

Yeah, but the state & Feds are checking up on them here in KC. There have been some cases being sent to the US Attorney here in KC. And the FBI is in on the investigation. Dont know how successful they will be on our side of the state.

It won't be in time for the election, and they will have their people counting the votes, just like here in WA State, in the govenor's election. They just keep counting, and finding more ballots until they have enough to win. Last year, they found something like 1200 more ballots than they had voters in Seattle, exactly the margin of victory.

Sniped from KC STAR:

...Election director Ray James said Monday that at least half the new registrations submitted this fall — more than 15,000 registrations — have “discrepancies,” which he described as duplicates, questionable or unreadable information, or names, addresses and Social Security numbers that don’t match existing records.

Most of the names were submitted by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, known as ACORN.

...

“We obviously don’t have any investigative powers ourselves, so we’ve turned it over to the U.S. attorney’s office and the Jackson County prosecutor’s office,” said election board member Melodie Powell.

An FBI spokesman said agents picked up some voter registration records Monday as part of the investigation.

Election officials reported similar discrepancies in St. Louis.

The WSJ said that ACORN is almost fully supported by the AFLCIO.

I think another important factor is the large number of people who now vote absentee. I understand that now almost as many people vote absentee as vote in the general elections. Absentee voters will favor Republicans somewhat. I understand the requests for absentee ballots in CO have heavily favored Republicans. I have already voted myself. I think we all may be surprised at how well the GOP does this year.

I guess everyone has written off Harris vs. Nelson.

Uhh...yah, about 6 months ago. This race was over when Harris won the primary. Actually, it was over before that when Harris scared off better candidates from running against her in the primary.

Anyhow, overall, this isn't all that bad of news. It basically tells us what we already knew: Santorum, in spite of his best efforts, is probably doomed (although I wouldn't count out a surprise), but the rest of the races are tossups.
