Director's Cut - Zucker Up To No Good Again
Pajama's Media ^ | 10/23/06

Filmmaker David Zucker (Airplane) made a lot of mischief a couple of weeks ago with a naughty political advertisement making fun of Madeleine Albright that was even too much for it sponsors in the Republican Party. Your humble servants at Pajamas Media did a podcast interview with the cheeky director, trying to restrain him. But to no avail. He’s upped and done it again. Herewith his latest - ZUCKER UNCENSORED - THE TAXMAN AD.

I can understand why the RNC didn't want to use the "Maddy Albright" commercial, it would have invited the Democrats to use their own Bush (or your local candidate) clone to reinforce some conspiracy theory. This commercial, however, is too funny (and too true) not to use. Besides, after the "talking to the bush/Bush" commercial, and the Michael J. Fox anti-Talent ad, all bets are (or should be) off.

He became a Sept. 12 Republican.

I remember from one of the "Airplane" movies a scene where airport security is strip searching a wheelchair granny while bearded, camo, guerrilla types are carrying heavy weapons thru the metal detector, unnoticed.

Funny how life imitates art.

Yes, it's almost as if they don't actually want to win. They should be running this ad in every close Congressional district.

Ab-so-bloodly-lutely brilliant. I rather enjoyed the taxmen chanting "oh-ee-oh" at the end.

If you use Mozilla/Firefox, they have a 'video downloader' tool you can download as an extention. It works for You Tube and other Streaming/Flash videos.
http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php

Then you can download for free 'Super' which can convert the .fly extention files to .wmv files.

Then you can upload them on Photobucket for storage and use in html postings and e-mails.

Heard Zucker on Medved the other day and he said he had something big in the works. I think it is bigger than just commercials though, maybe something like a political spoof movie. Can't remember exactly what it was though. I was in and out of the truck all day so I didn't get to hear all of the segment.

Anyone out there hear it? I'd love to have my memory refreshed.

No question. In this age of dirty politics, let's take the gloves off and mock them outright.

DFU, you are remarkable! You've kept your wit and good humor through the years and you also remain focused with laser precision on exposing the Clintons for being the power-mad egomaniacs that they are. I want to drive out to Upland and buy you a beer (or two or three...) and thank you for working so hard to inform and entertain us all.

Where's the first one? I know YouTube has it and limits it's access, but other sites must have it as well...

Cool.
Then Zucker will be just like Michael Moore, only with intelligence, honesty and a sense of humor.

Now I remember!!!!In fact, Michael Moore was mentioned and Medved asked if he (Zucker) had ever thought of doing a movie to counteract Moore's 911. Zucker said yes, and in fact something was in the works but he could not go into details.

I did a search on Zucker through our forum. You can find the thread and link to the video here.

brilliant, but will they play it?

I work at an outbound call center and sometimes people I'm calling will ask, "what is this?"
My reply: "A phone call, it's a way for people to communicate over long distances but that's not why I'm calling."

All the Zucker movies have definitely shaped my humor.
