Jane Wyatt, the lovely, serene actress who for six years on "Father Knows Best" was one of TV's favorite moms, has died, said her publicist. She was 96.
Wyatt died Friday in her sleep of natural causes at her home in Bel-Air, according to publicist Meg McDonald. Her death also was confirmed by Bernard Johnson of the funeral home Gates, Kingsley & Gates Moeller Murphy Funeral Directors.

One time, many years ago, my sister was visiting me for a weekend and we went out to the movies with a male friend of mine. Growing up, my dad had called me 'Princess' and my sister 'Kitten'. Turns out that the guy we were with had had the nickname 'Bud'. We all got a good laugh out of that! Loved all the 50's-60's sitcoms. Jane Wyatt was a class act!

Wow, I never knew what happened to her. 96! She was a wonderful actress on a wonderful show. I wonder if reruns of it will ever return? I am so sick of Fresh Prince, Rosanne, et al. It is time to recycle some of the old classics like Father Knows Best!

Thanks. That was pretty funny.

Sea Hunt. Lloyd Bridges. Loved that show. IIRC it was on fairly early on Saturday nights. I also remember watching a show called 'Adventures in Paradise' starring Gardner McKay, which I believe was also on Saturday nights. I am friggin' old.

Not if they were repeats... :-)

Looks like Amanda has joined her husband Sarek in the great beyond.

Father, if he's even around at all on TV shows today, doesn't seem to know anything any more. He's just there for the women and kids to ridicule because he's so stupid. I've noticed that.
Dad pays the mortgage and pays for everyone's toys, but he's a jackass.

I loved that show; I loved BUD. Bud was a hero to all awkward, clueless teenaged boys!

Sadly, they were NOT repeats when I saw them. Heck, another one just came to mind - - I believe there was a show called 'Waterfront' starring Preston Foster. He operated a tugboat, I think.... All these ocean-oriented shows obviously made quite an impression on my young mind.
I should have been a marine biologist. You know, like George Costanza.

About the only current network show I watch is King of the Hill. At least Hank knows what is right and wrong, which is more than can be said about nearly every other character on the show. Well, maybe Connie does.

Amazingly, IMDb has no record of the existence of this show.

Been a few years since they've shot an episode of that, hasn't it?

As a kid I had the hots for many of the tv Moms : Barbara Billngsley ; June Lockhart ( on Lost In Space ) ; Mary Tyler Moore ( Van Dyke Show ) ; Donna Reed ... June Lockhart was originally hot as Timmy's mom on "Lassie". I think she got divorced from Timmy's dad before she signed on to the crew of the Jupiter II back in the 60's.
