Estrich is another of those people living in an alternate universe. She's clearly off her rocker and has nothing of value to add to any conversation that requires honesty.

If the Dems fail to retake the House it'll the biggest indicator yet of the waning power of the MSM. They may take it harder than the Dems do.

I sincerely hope they do. They deserve it. Fifty years of spin and a thrown war (Vietnam), and I'm sick of it.

Scumbags are trying to throw the WoT, too, if only to blacken Bush's legacy because they're still mad at him for not losing in 2000 -- all those "smirking chimp" bribes came back to them, and they won't eat them. Pride, pride.

Well, screw them. I hope they lose big. I hope they lose their ya-ya's, and the corporate chieftains take fire axes to their salary structures, too. Screw 'em all, they aren't adding value, just egos.

Btw, I was wondering... What's Byrd done on the coal mines with legislation? Is it going better for the miners there?

Are you aware of the secret deal he made with the Soviets with regard to their missiles in Cuba?

Before we went X directory we never used to answer our phone and let the answerphone screen all calls. People that knew us used to know to identify themselves immediately the message was complete and then we picked up.

Now as no market research etc can call us as we have any number that does not show a call ID blocked we do answer because only those we wish to speak to have our number.

He also was caught trying to minimize his Muslim roots ....

His first name means "lightning" -- what, lightning will strike the infidel?

Why is he all over the place this week? He was on Charlie Rose for a full hour just the other night. What's he running for?

My fear now is the left's attempted take over of the internet. Google buying You Tube, and the leftist bloggers getting lots of face time on CNN, etc. Parituclarly CSPIN elevates leftist bloggers to a status they have not earned.

I fully think the attitude that some Republicans have to give in to our Conservative principles and be all inclusive all the time is sheer folly and could well backfire. We need to stand up even more for what true Republican principles are, every time we do we win more elections.

Attorney's rarely turn down clients. IIRC, Ken Starr took a murderer on death row as a client. Can a freeper recall the details?

The October 2006 spike in US casualties is being portrayed in the media as a watershed event, but these data lack context. US casualties (killed and wounded) in Iraq have been declining each year since 2004. In 2004, there were 848 deaths ( 719 from hostile fire) and 7998 wounded; in 2005, 846 deaths ( 676 from hostile fire) and 5943 wounded. As of October 22, 2006, there have been 611 deaths ( 523 from hostile fire) and 4338 wounded thru September.

That's a keeper, thanks.  The October 2006 spike is 100% intended to influence our elections, I'm convinced.  They know that if they can damage Bush's support and get the Dhimmicrats some power they'll criple the war effort and even be in a position to get us to run away.  Every time a bomb goes off the Jihadis see the DBM and Dhimmicrats react in exactly the way they want them to.  It's Pavlovian and it is exactly what Osama predicted would happen.

Here's a portion of a blog post from David Drake quoting Osama from an interview shown on CNN in October of 2001.

BIN LADEN: We believe that the defeat of America is possible, with the help of God, and is even easier for us, God permitting, than the defeat of the Soviet Union was before.

Q: How can you explain that?

BIN LADEN: We experienced the Americans through our brothers who went into combat against them in Somalia, for example. We found they had no power worthy of mention. There was a huge aura over America -- the United States -- that terrified people even before they entered combat. Our brothers who were here in Afghanistan tested them, and together with some of the mujahedeen in Somalia, God granted them victory. America exited dragging its tails in failure, defeat, and ruin, caring for nothing.

America left faster than anyone expected. It forgot all that tremendous media fanfare about the new world order, that it is the master of that order, and that it does whatever it wants. It forgot all of these propositions, gathered up its army, and withdrew in defeat, thanks be to God.

I suspect her heinous had notes, on all the questions that were about to be asked. Was she given advance notice?

Did you watch Meet The Press?

After I knew the Obama info-mercial was over, I checked in, just in time to see Tim lead his "expert" guests through their "keen" analyses of polls and predictions.

Predictions??? Well, it's all gloomy doom for republicans, but funny thing is, they don't seem altogether sure, want to hedge their bets. After Tim did his reading on all the polls, David Broder did say, and without trombones, "this spells trouble for Republicans".

Charlie Cook guessed about 20 seats republicans could lose, but he couched that with so many homespun analogies, I thought he was doing a Dan Rather impersonation.

He said, "these are challenging times for republicans."

He said a republican told him these scandals are sticking to us like "we're wearing teflon and they're wearing armor."

He said republicans getting over these scandals is "like trying to stick jello on the wall" I can't wait to read other posters to see if he appeared as unsure of his numbers as I thought.

Novak is the more cautious of Tim's gloom and doomers. He reminds them that national polls don't reflect local elections, and he says, there are some incumbant democrats in trouble out there.

In the same vein, John Harwood of the Wall Street Journal (editorial page I think,), said of national polls, "polls are decidedly imperfect predictors". He added, "republicans are fighting back", and that referenced races like Corker and Allen, who have come up a bit in the polls. (More like a just in case I need an excuse.) Harwood also cited the NBC/WSJ poll that was released last week.

exactly.

and it was Gore and his gang of attorneys and the DNC whining about election fraud that made it impossible for unification. They literally undermineded the election of a President over sour grapes.

Then- once the 9/11 occurred- the commies went into full court press (creating ANSWER) and the media jumped in to help lob 3 pointers in an all our effort to impede our country's unification and return to patriotism and American Values.

It is the LEFT creating so much angst, division, and handing the enemy every weapon they can find...even top secret info.....

THE ENEMY WITHIN~

Unless our govt. clamps down severely on the net, which would be really hard to do,I think it will always remain a bastion of freedom. It's just too easy to start a new site if one gets flaky.

We have found videos of office buildings and schools in New Jersey.........in caves in Afghanistan. Yet most folks here on the east coast continue to believe the threat is manufactured by the President.

I no longer have any pity for these people, they seem bent on getting us all killed.

Thanks anita, will add to the collection.

I have to tell you, blacks in inner city Chicago (that may or may not have been part of the joy of Obama's urban gifts), see him as BS. I came across a post of someone who worked at a center Obama set up in the urban terrain, that hired people off the street to work there (ok admirable); This person claimed months later he pulled up stakes to an affluent neighborhood with all white staffers and a lot of them were peeved. Other posts said he was grandstanding and hasn't done anything for those in urban areas, just push them for votes.

Don't know the facts yet.

Ask your daughter what good moving to a safer place will be if the terrorists detonate a dirty bomb in America?

Implore her to understand the value of the measures this President has put in place to surveil the terrorists and how the left wants to dismantle every safeguard.
