She is also very short on cash and Nelson is so far ahead, he is not spending any of his huge monetary warchest.

She tried. We will miss her.

That race was over before it began.

Sounds like Nelson will have plenty of money to send to other 'RATS.

Sadly, Nelson was never in any danger of losing to Harris.

Unfortunately Harris campaign was wrecked by scandals and staff problems and little support from the national party. She is a great lady who would have made a terrific Senator.

I sure am glad election day is already over and the victor chosen!

Ooops. No one has voted yet!

The Bush administration tried to convince Harris to bow out but she was stubborn and refused.

They realized something which Republican idealogues wouldn't admit — that she is unelectable state-wide, even against a vulnerable candidate like Nelson.

Florida was a wasted opportunity.

The gloom & doomers pounce on the Harris threads just as quickly and assiduously as the broom sweepers who follow the elephants at the end of a circus parade, LOL.

I'll bet that in the first hour of voting, it will be reported even worse than that for Harris. No need for the Panhandle voters to bother, move along, nothing to see here.

Imagine if all Florida's GOP voters actually chose to ignore the Ministry of Voting Polls?

And if all who support the generally true Conservative values were to really start praying for her and for Florida and America?

This will be a single digit race. This poll is ridiculous, what half the Repubs going to vote for Nelson?

The GOP should have gone for a viable candidate who'd not put her foot in her mouth all the time and that wouldn't be a huge draw for Democrats to come out and vote against her. This was a mistake from the get-go, many of us saw that but were flamed for saying so. Money or no money Harris' campaign is too inept to have ever accomplished much which is a shame since the empty suit Nelson was emminently beatable.

Interesting. If one were to believe this poll (and I put zero faith in polls) and the Crist polls, then Florida will see a lot of ticket splitting, with a great many people voting for both Republican Charlie Crist for Governor and for Democrat Bill Nelson for Senator? That doesn't seem all that likely to me.

I was re-reading the threads from the 2004 election, and some of the pollsters were so wildly off that's hard to believe that they didn't somehow mix up telephone area codes between, say, Virginia and New York, because they were literally that far wrong.

I personally think that you would be better off hiring a haruspex rather than a "pollster".

Katherine Harris ...... she got too big for her britches. Being a US Congressman wasn't good enough. She blew it all. She'll be back to horses and selling real estate very soon

IIRC, I was reading about the polls that said she was points down and couldn't beat Nelson. Hmmm.

I'd say 90% of the Harris bashers on this thread are at best left-of-center moderates that despise her because she is a real Conservative.

The ONLY reason Nelson votes with the Republicans on some (but not enough) issues is his fear of a bona fide challenge from the right. Don't let that RAT in a red state think he no longer has anything to fear in abandoning his Florida constituents completely and voting straight RAT. If you believe your Harris vote would otherwise be wasted, then cast it for Katherine to send Nellie a message! The narrower the margin the better!

Vote for Katherine and vote AGAINST the three SCOFLA justices who sided with AlGore in 2000! Spread the word.

Gore v. Harris SCOFLA Justices on ballot (discuss)
