Gore v. Harris SCOFLA Justices on ballot (discuss)
Florida Supreme Court ^ | Oct. 20, 2006 | NonValueAdded

Posted on 10/20/2006 6:36:50 PM PDT by NonValueAdded

Three of the Florida Supreme Court Justices ruling in favor of AlGore in 2000 are up for a retention vote on November 7, 2006. Justices R. Fred Lewis, Barbara Jean Pariente, and Peggy A. Quince all face the question "Shall Justice _____ of the Supreme Court be retained in office?"

Revenge is a dish best served cold and I'm pulling this thread out of my freezer for your dining delight.

Pass the word and let's make this a triple play!

Here are the judges in the 12/00 Fla Sup Ct vote:

The first vote of the Fla. Sup. Ct. was unanimous in favor of recounts.

The second vote of the Fla. Sup. Ct. on Dec. 9, 2000 was 4-3 in favor of recounts; in favor:
Justice Harry Lee Anstead
Justice Peggy A. Quince
Justice Barbara J. Pariente
Justice R. Fred Lewis

Dissenting:
Justice Charles Wells, Justice Major Harding and Justice Leander J. Shaw Jr.

==============================================

I thot these names had disappeared on the '04 ballot... must have been wrong.

There are 8 Proposed constitutional amendments--- I have a headache just reading them!!

Re: Judges-- Etzler is a Republican.

I will deliver a NO vote for "SUPREMES"-- I'll feel better!

Have any of these people EVER been "voted out" in previous elections??!!

Just got my sample ballot in the mail. Thanks for this timeley advice. I don't see voting against retention so much as an act of revenge and a strike for justice. So I shall vote against retention.

It's great that we can share information about the good and bad judges and justices on FReep. Kudos to those who do this. Unfortunately, it doesn't change any election outcomes.

It would be 10 times better if the GOP, or major conservative organizations in Florida, had mounted such an effective campaign on the judicial elections that, by this point in the season, every FReeper and a high percentage of Republican voters already knew who those people are. That way, we could actually dump the bad ones.

Hi, old friend......it's harder to vote incumbent judges out than for Michael Moore to pass through the eye of a needle.

Chief Justice Barbara Pariente and Justices Peggy Quince and R. Fred Lewis of the Florida Supreme Court are on the ballot for retention this November. They are the only Supreme Court Justices on the ballot. Vote NO! on ALL of them!

They will be the first ones in history not to be retained and nobody ever deserved it more after the debacle of the 2000 elections (they tried to say different counties could count their votes differently from each other, remember?), their disallowing the anti-affirmative action amendment to go on the ballot for spurious reasons and having just declared Governor Bush's Opportunity Scholarship program unconstitutional.

PRINT THIS OUT AND PUT BUSINESS CARD MAGNETS ON THE BACK -- MAKES GOOD TRUNK AND TAILGATE MAGNETS!:

Thanks for the templates.

You're welcome. Actually, I think it would be more effective to copy this into an email and send it to everyone you can and ask them to do the same (setting up and using "email trees" DEFINITELY helps):
