In his book, which came out this week, Kengor focuses on a KGB letter written at the height of the Cold War that shows that Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) offered to assist Soviet leaders in formulating a public relations strategy to counter President Reagan's foreign policy and to complicate his re-election efforts.

They would have found some other petty item to distract us from the real news. Failing that, they would have created something distracting.

"We're going to need a really thick rope to string this sucker up! Then again, nothing seems to stick to this slimeball traitor. Unless charges are brought up immediately, this story will disappear by next week."
If Kennedy, Kerry, Fonda, Chronkite and the other anti war liberals who caused our pullout in Nam had been tried for treason, found guilty and hung by the Capitol's entrance, we would not be putting up with this Anti America Bs today.

"Tunney told his contacts that Kennedy was very troubled about the decline in U.S -Soviet relations under Reagan," Kengor said. "But Kennedy attributed this decline to Reagan, not to the Soviets. In one of the most striking parts of this letter, Kennedy is said to be very impressed with Andropov and other Soviet leaders."
In Kennedy's view, the main reason for the antagonism between the United States and the Soviet Union in the 1980s was Reagan's unwillingness to yield on plans to deploy middle-range nuclear missiles in Western Europe, the KGB chief wrote in his letter.
Reagan's fault!

"His proxie Kerry was probably sent to Nam to set up his traitorous return as a so called Navy War Hero, who immediately bonded with Fonda and the other anti war rats." Grampa, here is perhaps some ammo to your suspicion. This is Jean Fransouis Kerry in 1962 with the "former war hero" JFK prior to The Frenchman's service in Nam. (he is the "lurch" looking guy in the middle)
I am sure there was some stratagies going on there to "recreate" the JFK admin.

Democrats don't like to close an issue they can use to hit Republicans over the head with. It would be just fine with them to have the USSR still in business and ICBM pointed in our direction just so they hound the Republicans about it. Its the same deal with the war on terror they want to shut it down while at the same time complaining the Republicans don't do enough. When they do something the Dems complain citizens loosing rights or whatever. The Democratic party only about power, America be damned.

Is Bill Clinton conducting a shadow foreign policy with Kofi Annan, Jacques Chirac, etc. to undermine the current president?
