In his book, which came out this week, Kengor focuses on a KGB letter written at the height of the Cold War that shows that Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) offered to assist Soviet leaders in formulating a public relations strategy to counter President Reagan's foreign policy and to complicate his re-election efforts.

At one point after President Reagan left office, Tunney acknowledged that he had played the role of intermediary, not only for Kennedy but for other U.S. senators, Kengor said. Moreover, Tunney told the London Times that he had made 15 separate trips to Moscow.
"There's a lot more to be found here," Kengor told Cybercast News Service. "This was a shocking revelation."
It is not evident with whom Tunney actually met in Moscow. But the letter does say that Sen. Kennedy directed Tunney to reach out to "confidential contacts" so Andropov could be alerted to the senator's proposals.
Specifically, Kennedy proposed that Andropov make a direct appeal to the American people in a series of television interviews that would be organized in August and September of 1983, according to the letter.
"Tunney told his contacts that Kennedy was very troubled about the decline in U.S -Soviet relations under Reagan," Kengor said. "But Kennedy attributed this decline to Reagan, not to the Soviets. In one of the most striking parts of this letter, Kennedy is said to be very impressed with Andropov and other Soviet leaders."
How much more evidence do we need to prove that RATS are traitors!!!!
He could be videoed, drunk and raping a 4 year old in a downtown Boston fountain and still get re-elected, such are the voters in the illustrious Commonwealth.
Besides, his PR tean will spin this as "Teddy is a Peacemaker who engage in 'dialog' with our adversaries, as opposed to Imperialist Warmongers like Reagan and Dubya", if the MSM decides to give this ANY exposure whatsoever anyways.
Kennedy wasn't the only one working with the enemy.
In the lead up to the Gulf War, Jimmy Carter was contacting heads of state to ask them NOT to support the efforts of Bush #41.
"During the buildup to the Gulf War in 1990 and 1991, Carter unsuccessfully worked to undermine the foreign policy of America's democratically elected president, George Bush. Carter behaved as the Imperial Ex-President, conducting a guerrilla foreign policy operation that competed with the actual president's. What's disturbing about this behavior is not that Carter opposed war with Iraq. Many Democrats opposed going to war, and they worked within the American system to try to prevent a war that many predicted would be bloody (which it was, for Iraq). But Carter went further than merely lobbying Congress to oppose military action or speaking out in an effort to tilt popular opinion against the coming war. He used his status as a former president to engage in foreign policy, a deliberate effort to subvert the democratic process."

Just getting to this thread...
You wondered what more evidence we need???
Do you remember Sen. Rockefeller talking on a Sunday talk show...admitting that he went to Syria, and other ME countries and TOLD them that Bush was going to invade Iraq, BEFORE Bush had announced it publicly???
THAT sounds pretty similar to what Kennedy did in this letter....WARNING the enemy!
Bump for continued visibility...............
The evidence just continues to mount up....at what point do we draw the line.
BINGO!!
Talk about your major GOTCHAs...this is one.
Had this been mentioned on the TV news yet??
The silence from the GOP is deafening, isn't it??
Convict him of treason. Then . . .
Make him walk the plank.
Better yet, keel haul him under the USS RONALD REAGAN . . . only . . . from bow to stern . . . for treason.
Then he might have a better feeling for how Mary Jo felt gasping for air.
What a miserable creature pretending to be human.

Fascinating Analysis of Leftist Goals, August 13, 2006
Reviewer: N. Sincerity - See all my reviews
A former 1960s radical, Horowitz is well-acquainted with the Leftist mindset. In this book, he strives to explain the modern alliance between left wing progressivists and radical Islamofascists. He argues that this alliance is based on a common desire to destroy Western capitalism. Leftist sympathy with Islamofascist ideas makes no sense from an intellectual point of view, given that countries ruled by radical Islamists are among the most racist, sexist, theocratic states in the world today. However, Leftists have recognized that they can benefit politically from destructive terrorist attacks on the Western world. A West under attack can be made to turn on its leaders in fear and desperation (as they did in Spain after the Madrid train bombings). Only once people reject current government structures can the Left execute its anti-capitalist revolution and build a new reality that mirrors the Leftist view of utopia. The complete and utter idealogical hypocrisy of the Islamofascist-Leftist alliance is distressing, but as Horowitz reminds us, Leftists radicals truly believe the ends justify the means.

This does not surprise me at all. I agree with Mark Levin - the Liberals are dangerous to each and every of us.

Exceedingly.
I suspect that there's a cadre of demons prepareing a special place in hell for a number of them.
My advice to everybody would be to send it to as MANY people with even a little influence as possible. This needs to be brought to light quickly before it's too late for this country.
OMG. If Republicans don't USE this information in commercials and run a strong candidate against Kennedy next time around, I'll be just stunned.
And my husband said he'd bet our house Kennedy wasn't the only one who did this.
It looks like treason because it IS treason. JFK must be rolling in his grave.
Will the Boston Globe finally have a story worth reading?
Just kidding - no one hold their breath -- the MSM doesn't give a hoot...
"Sure would be nice to get a hold of the actual letter."
"The letter, dated May 14, 1983, was sent from the head of the KGB to Yuri Andropov,"
So,,, the letter was not from Kennedy, but from the KGB to Andropov, about Kennedy's position as passed on by Tunney to the KGB, I think.
