Muslim activists called on Pace University yesterday to crack down on hate crimes after a second copy of the Koran was found in a toilet at its Manhattan campus.
"This incident meets the legal definition of a hate crime," said Aliya Latif, a member of the Association of Muslim American Lawyers. "Indeed, this is no different from placing a burning cross in front of a house or painting a swastika on a locker."
The discovery of the holy book in a toilet at Pace's lower Manhattan campus on Oct. 13 follows a similar act at Pace on Sept. 21.
Earlier this month, someone scrawled racial slurs on a student's car at the Westchester County campus and on a bathroom wall at the campus in lower Manhattan.
Pace officials had no immediate comment yesterday but have referred the matter to police. NYPD spokesman Detective Kevin Czartoryski said the investigation into the Koran desecrations

Thanks...that says it all. I am so tired of whining, if they don't like it here then leave. I see no big deal in this except the one that they are making. So what if their Koran is in the toilet, I am sure they are doing the same to the bible. They are burning effigies of President Bush and the Pope but that is not a hate crime?
And would the AP refer to it as "the holy book?" Indeed, we already know the answer.

If the pages are as thin-skinned as the muslims, I would recommend at least two at a time. Otherwise, the result may be a stinky pinky.

Pace University is an excellent Accounting school. They churn CPA's like crazy. They are one school that I don't think wastes its time with all the liberal crap.

Boy I couldn't agree more. Always prided myself on being tolerant which goes to show that obviously there are limits.
The ones we see here in west Texas are:
Dirty
Ignorant of OUR culture
Ignorant, period
A drain on taxpayers since many are on food stamps
Haters of dogs in a land where DOGS RULE!
Clog the schools with 20 kids to a family
Keep the schools in chaos by sueing over veils and the like.
Raise Hell about pork in anything.
Screw up the holiday calendar by insisting on their holidays instead of what's been traditional here for eons.
Refuse to condem the extremist in their faith.
Call us infidels
Plan to convert or kill us all.
YOu are correct, these are not nice people and we need to get them out of here.
They also have a pretty decent law school.
The koran is an extremely versatile book with utility far beyond the latrine. It works perfectly well for cleaning windows, lining bird cages, and in a pinch, makes for a pretty fine coffee filter.
