VANITY: First exposure to CNN in years left me dumbfounded and angry

I do not watch television or read newspapers. So, the last time I watched CNN news in any kind of volume (more than walking in an airport and glancing at it) was probably 10 years ago.

Last night I went over to a friend's house, and he was watching CNN, and I think it was Lou Dobbs doing some kind of forum with an audience, and the graphic at the bottom was something like "ATTACK...on the Middle Class". It was unbelievable...reminded me of watching Oprah or something like that. They had some family on who was driven into bankruptcy by medical costs on a newborn child, and the camera panned to some lady in the audience wiping her eyes...

Then there was a "News" segment, and the first thing was, in big huge letters "THE FOLEY SCANDAL"...the next item was "REPUBLICAN PANIC"...after that it was BUSH APPROVAL PLUMMETS...then it was PUBLIC DISAPPROVAL OF CONGRESS and they showed stats on disapproval for REPUBLICANS in Congress without making any mention of Democrats. All the while, I am watching the little text crawler at the bottom saying things like "US Soldiers Hunted by Snipers..."

To me, getting at least one competitive news channel that can be accessed worldwide is imperative. Seriously, after watching the anti-American crap they air on CNN International, no wonder the world hates us. It REALLY is sad to see the blatant anti-American propaganda and feel such helplessness. I'm sick of that feeling and want to retaliate.

This kind of media indoctrination has been going on for several years and it's time for it to STOP!!! We and the world desperately need to have access to alternative conservative based television news sources. I would like to know how to participate in order to make that happen in order for CNN to be squashed like a bug. I really am serious.

Oh yeah I tuned them out back in 1994. What is more amazing to me is how people can watch CNN, and say they do not have an agenda.

You're right, I have seen CNN International, it was USA bashing all day long. No wonder the rest of the world hates us.

Someone made the point the other night on a thread that there is a boatload of money to be made for any producer who is willing to produce a CONSERVATIVE television series. You know, cater for once to the OTHER half of the population.

But it won't happen...they are all LIBERALS before they are Capitalists.

I just cannot watch television, period. My wife and I had a fight a few years ago because she insists on watching the Today Show in the morning, and I was unable to hear Lauer and Couric without having my hair stand on end. She put her foot down and said it was what SHE wanted to watch, so...to keep the peace I bite my tongue off each morning.

I do love my wife.

We were in New Zealand and the first thing our host said to me was "why did you elected an idiot as your president?". This was just before 9-11 and he said he was a real news junkie. When I found him watching CNN International, it all came together for me. He was an a-hole.

CNN is good for a night light. Not much else. Problem is, some people think it is a bonafide news medium. It has beeen caught with its pants down so many times. Too bad no one sees the naked emperor.

I almost never watch CNN because of their blatant agenda. I'll sometimes pause on it when flipping channels just to see what story they are currently twisting to attack conservatives or President Bush. I do think they do breaking news events better than other networks though.

I wouldn't worry too much, their ratings are in the toilet, and it's likely many cable companies could tank them to pay the extra money it's going to cost to keep Fox News.

I always ask them to change the channel when the Communist Nitwit Network is on. To either Fox Sports Network Or Fox News Network.

CNN needs to be shut down for treason. Case in point the sniper video. I have not seen it, but just listening to it has my blood boiling. This is crossing line in my view.
