You're right -- they DO have a legitimate gripe here . . .

The brand name of the machine in question is visible in the scene.

I agree completely. NBC can't show a specific product brand name in that kind of light. I remodel kitchens and always recommend In-Sink-Erator brands because they hold up well, are reasonably priced and easy to change.
