If he can pay it back out of his pocket, why couldn't he pay it out of there in the first place?

"These donations were made to thank the men and women who work in the building for the extra work they do as a result of my political activities, and for helping the security officers assigned to me because of my Senate position," Reid said.

There is no report of him giving ANY other money than this money. But the condo association has a fund for these christmas bonuses, which most of the residents contribute to out of their own money simply to reward the staff for their regular duties.

Reid here is saying the only reason he gave them money was for the "extra work they did for him".

So, what about the normal christmas bonus for just being normal workers? Was Reid to cheap to give out bonuses?

--and in the Catch-22 of media bias, one of the Demotraitor angles to it is that "the media aren't even bothering with it, knowing that there's really nothing wrong with what he did"----

"Reid's office said Monday the senator's lawyers had approved them"

Is this a precedence?  If I get a lawyer to approve of illegal activity before I commit said activity, does this mean it's okay?

"Who stole the People's money? Do tell: IT WAS HIM."

The Tammany Hall Nest of Corruption

Boss Reid is descended from a long line of Democrat vultures.
He thinks he's exempt from the rules that govern others.
He says "Culture of Corruption? Me? I got no culture."

Boss Reid should resign.

A fitting tombstone.

This came from our STATE Republican Party Chair this week.....

Harry Reid's ethics cloud covers Cantwell

While an ethics cloud grows over Senate Democrat and Minority Leader Harry Reid's million-dollar Las Vegas land deal, Washington State Republican Party Chairman Diane Tebelius today called on Sen. Maria Cantwell to return the $6,000.00 in campaign cash that she received from Reid.

"Given Maria Cantwell's own ethical clouds over her relationship and financial dealings with lobbyist and longtime friend Ron Dotzauer, she should immediately distance herself from Reid's own ethical problems and return the six-thousand dollars in donations," Tebelius said.

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid has come under fire for collecting over a $1 million dollars in a Las Vegas land deal from property that he has not owned for three years and for failing to report the million dollars on his Senate financial statements according to an Associated Press story dated Oct. 11, 2006.

"Either Maria Cantwell finds this acceptable or she does not," said Tebelius. "Voters deserve to know that she stands by the ethics rules of the U.S. Senate, especially given the ethics questions surrounding her efforts to steer millions in budget earmarks to Dotzauer's clients and his unpaid personal loan from the Senator."

Senator Reid's Contributions to Cantwell Campaign:

Harry Reid's Campaign Committee Contributed $6,000 To Maria Cantwell's (D-WA) Senate Campaign Committees Since 2001. (Federal Election Commission Website, www.fec.gov, Accessed September 10, 2006)

RECIPIENT MO DAY YEAR AMOUNT
CANTWELL, MARIA (D-WA) 11 17 2005 $1,000

CANTWELL, MARIA (D-WA) 11 29 2004 $1,000
CANTWELL, MARIA (D-WA) 11 29 2004 $1,000
CANTWELL, MARIA (D-WA) 3 16 2001 $2,000
TOTAL $6,000
