Clinton Predicts Republican and Independent Voters Will Help Lift Her Party to Victory
The New York Times ^ | October 17, 2006 | PATRICK HEALY and JONATHAN P. HICKS

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton asserted yesterday that the Bush administration’s failings in foreign and domestic policy were so great that Republican and independent voters would help Democrats win control of Congress in the Nov. 7 elections.

Mrs. Clinton also endorsed the Democratic candidate for attorney general, Andrew M. Cuomo, and took a jab at his opponent and her own onetime rival Jeanine F. Pirro. Mr. Cuomo and Ms. Pirro continued battling in the intermission between their debates Sunday and today.

Mrs. Clinton, speaking to several hundred women at the fall lunch of the Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy Committee at a Midtown hotel, said that Republicans and independents have been steadily telling her that they want to support Democrats because of what she called the “extremist right-wing” tilt of the party.

“They didn’t sign up for an Iraq war that has been beset by strategic blunders and mistake after mistake,” Mrs. Clinton said. “They didn’t sign up for the Taliban and Al Qaeda resurging in Afghanistan.” She also said that the Bush administration had stumbled in dealing with Iran and in preventing nuclear proliferation in North Korea.

She drew a standing ovation when she said that a Democratic takeover of Congress would help ensure that “the president and the vice president are not above the law, where we hold them to standards that we expect the rest of the world to follow and set an example.”

In recent weeks, former President Bill Clinton, too, has been offering similar talking points to Democrats about Iraq and foreign policy, and encouraging the sort of confident and rousing campaign performances that Mrs. Clinton turned in yesterday.

During a campaign visit to Iowa on Saturday, Mr. Clinton also said that the Republican Party had moved away from its roots by embracing an “extreme” and “right- wing” agenda.

"...a Democratic takeover of Congress would help ensure that “the president and the vice president are not above the law, where we hold them to standards that we expect the rest of the world to follow and set an example.”

Not above the law? Duh. We proved it when President Clinton was impeached.

Standards? What standards? If those were standards then God forbid the rest of the world their example!

Who is this "extremist right-wing" tilt? George Soros & Co. are on their side.

The same standards Reid used? You mean it'll be an illegal free for all? For everybody?

A delusion is commonly defined as a fixed false belief and is used in everyday language to describe a belief that is either false, fanciful or derived from deception. In psychiatry, the definition is necessarily more precise and implies that the belief is pathological (the result of an illness or illness process).

Delusions typically occur in the context of neurological or mental illness, although they are not tied to any particular disease and have been found to occur in the context of many pathological states (both physical and mental). However, they are of particular diagnostic importance in psychotic disorders and particularly in schizophrenia.

The smartest woman in the world was outsmarted by a 21 year old intern.

And remember, if she hadn't married Bill Clinton, we'd all be going....Hillary who??

She didn't take Bill's name when they got married. She had it changed "for political reasons".

Note to Hillary: Military members, regardless of the war, sign up for whatever comes their way...for better or worse. Just ask the vets from the Chosun Penninsula, D-Day, ect.

Vote Republican even if they aren't as conservative as you'd like, otherwise you could hand the election to those who are farther from conservativism than you'd like.

Don't wake up to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

Yep. The same ones that Harry "shadyland" Reid used. He's probably coordinating with ACORN as we speak.

This shrill fool Hillary claims the Republican party is embracing a "right-wing" agenda? I wish that were true! If it were, the Republicans would be GAINING large numbers of seats on November 7th....

I guess she didn't catch 60 Minutes last night. You have to wonder just who is really in charge of the Democrat message. I disagree that it is the Clintons.

Funny, last week I talked with the father of a Marine sniper who is going back for his third trip after being shot.

Now this makes total sense--vote for the leftist extremists as a counterbalance to a 'so-called' extreme right-wing. This smells like a steamy pile of Moby unleashed by a Soreass or a Clinton.
