Senator Hillary Clinton has said that she supports legalizing the torture of a captured terror suspect who knows abut "an imminent threat to millions of Americans".
This, she said was an exception to her opposition to torture.
"If we're going to be preparing for the kind of improbable but possible eventuality, then it has to be done within the rule of law," the New York Daily News quoted Hillary as saying in a phone interview on Friday.
She said the "ticking time bomb" scenario represented a narrow exception to her opposition to torture as morally wrong, ineffective and dangerous to American soldiers.
"In the event we were ever confronted with having to interrogate a detainee with knowledge of an imminent threat to millions of Americans, then the decision to depart from standard international practices must be made by the President, and the President must be held accountable," she said.
"That very, very narrow exception within very, very limited circumstances is better than blasting a big hole in our entire law," she added.
When she gets the nomination, liberal moonbats are going to stay away in droves or vote third party.
Let's face it. Hillary Clinton would support the selective torture of anyone of us that would dare speak out against her.
I wonder what her definition of torture would be? If its anything like Bill's definition of sex then the terrorists have nothing to fear.
Her liberal friends all know that she says these things in hopes of getting elected and she is not serious and for them, thats OK.
So, I guess Hillary thinks torture should be common, normalized, and funded by tax dollars.
hummmmm wonder if she would like to try all her ideas on bj.....
do you suppose she still has bj's testicles in her lock box?????
Hillary scares me. One of the reasons I've had some doubts about Pres. Bush's proposals to protect us from terrorists is that he and the Republicans will not always be in the WH. I trust Pres. Bush completely, but memories of the Clintons always worried me. This brings it all back. I don't want Hillary in charge if any torture anywhere is allowed. These people do away with their opposition. And they consider Republicans--or anyone in the way of their ambitions--their enemies. They seem much more comfortable aligning themselves with people Republicans and patriots know are our enemy.
She's be the Dem. equivilant of Saddam Hussein.
Agreed, and that is why she still the left wing liberal clown that she is. We need to use rough interrogation measures with terrorists to get information period, and it does not need to be only in the case of imminent threat to millions of Americans as Hillary Clinton is saying. How about a captured terrorists with information about a plot to kill 50 Americans or even one American a year from now, should not we use rough interrogation with them in this case? Of course we should.
By which she means: "People working for her 2008 Primary opponents." ;)
"Senator Hillary Clinton has said that she supports legalizing the torture of a captured terror suspect who knows abut "an imminent threat to millions of Americans".
.......does that include HER?
I should have read your post before I posted mine :), agreed 100%.
Hillary has been torturing us with her presence since 1991. Why would she want to give that up?
"As soon as you start talking, we'll take the black pantsuit out of your air vent to your cell...."
Now we can find out the facts about Vince Fostera and Ron Brown.
Standard international practices? Has this foolish woman ever seen the inside of, say, a Jordanian jail or a Cuban or a Chinese one? In most of the world, what the liberals would consider "torture" is standard practice - and that's if the prisoner's lucky.
How long before Chris Wallace is on this list?
I suspect that the only people HiLIARy wants to see tortured are political opponents who still resist after she sics the IRS on them.
