Agents raid homes of Rep. Curt Weldon’s daughter, close friend By John Shiffman, Mitch Lipka and Patrick Kerkstra INQUIRER STAFF WRITERS
Federal agents raided the home of the daughter of U.S. Rep. Curt Weldon (R., Pa.) and his longtime friend Charlie Sexton this morning.
The agents departed Karen Weldon's three-story brick home on Queen Street in Philadelphia with arms loaded with boxes.
A government car pulled into the alley to the back door of the house and loaded boxes into it. Three agents standing in an alley declined to identify themselves.
"I can confirm that we conducted a number of searches regarding an ongoing investigation," said FBI agent Jerri Williams, a spokeswoman in Philadelphia. "Details regarding those investigation cannot be provided because the accompanying affidavit is sealed."
In Delaware County, FBI agents had blocked off Kelli Lane leading to Charles P. Sexton Jr.'s Springfield house, and were removing at least one box and a bag of material from his home late this morning. Sexton, a long time ally of Weldon and a power in Delaware County GOP politics for more than three decades, is a business associate of Weldon's daughter.
The raids came three days after news broke that the FBI is investigating whether the Delaware County congressman used his influence to help his daughter, a registered lobbyist, win consulting contracts.

Will I rate no one lower than the Gruesome Twosome they are not capable of doing 1/10th of what they are blamed for. Not that they would not LIKE to do it all but they simply do not have the power to.
The fabled FBI files are of no value and they have no power in the Justice Department or FBI to instigate a probe of this nature.

Well, we tend to go by who has the most to gain. In this case, the dems. How does Bush gain by having another congressman fall for the Nov. elections? He doesn't. Although weldon has been a pain to the Bush admin. since he has been the only one to track the Able Danger material. Seems like the shelf life on the investigation has been reached. So I think the dems are just doing everything they can and they believe control is within reach. Have a 33% poll for those supportive of the war is not a good sign of patience by the American people. I hope bush has a november surprise up his sleeve, like...."We Got Him!"
What has disturbed me recently was reports that people in his administration supposedly ridiculing the christians behind their back as nuts. bush needs to knock that rumor out of the park.

At an event earlier today at Philadelphia International Airport to discuss airport noise, Weldon said the investigation was politically motivated - blaming a complaint filed by Melanie Sloan, director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.
"She is the only one I know of who went to the Justice Department and asked for an investigation," Weldon said. "I know that because I have her letter."

First of all.....there were PROTESTORS with signs, on the same day of these raids??? We are just now finding out about them....but some people just happened to find out and make up signs and protest BEFORE this is in the news..

2nd...I read the other day that this same CREW group has filed a FOIA with the White House for all of the records of any and all meetings with religious leaders...

I too wonder about that. The whole thing is disgusting. WHY did they feel the need to do this now? There's probably a couple of bong sellers in Pittsburgh they could raid.
I've read some stuff about other possible Clinton crimes, but not much about Waco. One thing I never understood about Waco is why I saw nobody running out of that burning building. Why do you think nobody appeared to even try to flee that building?

I'm hoping this is some clever GOP operation, and the DOJ will announce that Weldon has been cleared a few days before the election. But somehow that seems unlikely, and it's more likely that one or more people in the DOJ are out to defeat Weldon.
Post 119 was supposed to go to you too. I'm hoping Weldon gets cleared a few days before the election.
