The illegal immigrant committed the murders, and even though he'd been in the US for 17 years, tried to get the Mexican Consulate to help him get out of the charges. There were several witnesses, who said it wasn't even that intense of situation - he didn't get what he wanted and cold bloodedly gunned down a number of people, killing 3. Altoona doesn't normally see that kind of crime.

The feds are not going to do a thing, and they are not going to help us even at the local level. Time for a Citizen Militia.

At least they've called them ILLEGAL immigrants and not the usual "undocumented immigrants."

I was more interested in the part of the headline that said there was prompted a 'law against illegal immigrants'. That seems a little...ironic.

Look guys, get used to these headlines. It's only going to get worse.
The Republicans let the RINOs set the stage for allowing and tolerating and encouraging these waves of illegal aliens (NOT IMMIGRANTS!!) to establish a beachhead here, and it's going to get worse when the Democrats take over.
Don't expect the pro-amnesty President to veto the coming Democrat legislation on amnesty and open borders and alien voting. The vector now is toward a civil strife or war in the not-too-distant future when the illegal alien component reaches a critical mass and regions and whole states (California) start using the tools of democracy to separate from the United States.
Like the traitorous Robert McNamara, Karl Rove in his dotage can write books about how mistaken he was and be the toast of the intelligencia set.
If you want a glimpse of our future, look at current feeble Russia and compare it to the superpower that existed before it started losing sections of the old Soviet Union.
I'd tell your grandkids to start learning Chinese.

"...there was prompted a 'law against illegal immigrants'" Our elected officials call this, 'thinking out of the box.' It gives them something to talk about during election campaigns, and it's a lot easier than actually doing any substantive work.

That's tantamount to saying their should be a law against criminals.

I have a little problem with the government punishing landlords and businesses when the same governments reward these illegals with all kinds of perks.
I'd list them all, but it would take too long.
And no they are not immigrants, they are illegal and invaders of our country and they will conquer us through the ballot box. I have been saying this for years. It is totally asinine NOT to protect ourselves from this type of voter fraud.

From the article...
As for the Altoona law, the ACLU will accept complaints from anybody wrongly ensnared in an immigration case and then decide whether to sue, Mr. Walczak said.
snip
Altoona Councilman Joseph Rieker calls the ACLU "a nutso organization" that is quick to disparage any city trying to live by rule of law.
Mr. Rieker's wife is a native of Lima, Peru. He says they are going through an arduous and costly process so she can become a U.S. citizen.
"We're doing it the right way. I don't have sympathy for people who come here illegally and refuse to go through the steps for citizenship," he said.

Huh, too bad we couldn't deport
carl chrarles roberts, who killed 5 Amish school girls in cold blood.
Oops, I forgot, this scumbags name wasn't Jose, so his murderous rampage is less evil to some on FR.
Someday you reactionaries may learn and not blame the evil committted by ethnic group, but on the actual individual.

NO, the ACLU is fundamentally flawed. They must be driven out of this land too.

He had been in the United States for 17 years and had accumulated an arrest record before he shot his victims. The problem is liberal judges and lenient sentences. Illegals should be dealt with once they enter the criminal justice system, but all criminals should be given more appropriate sentences that either discourage them from a life of crime or lock them up if that is their choice.

No one here is blaming an "ethnic" group, they are blaming a law breaking group, regardless of where the illegal is from. As for americans committing murder, yes, they too are scumbags, but the truth of the matter, Dane, is that the murders committed by illegal aliens wouldn't happen if they weren't here, and they wouldn't be here if our laws were enforced. Simple as that but I know you have trouble understanding simple things, you would rather complicate them and play the race card
BTW only an idiot would call someone who wants to live by rule of law a reactionary.

WTH are you babbling about? ILLEGAL ALIENS are NOT an ethnic group.
Oh wait a second. Now I see your angle. You OBVIOUSLY are stereotyping that only Mexicans are typical ILLEGALS.
