Our president met with the President's Management Council. Fact Sheet: The President's Management Agenda: Making Government More Effective
He signed the SAFE Port Act in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
He met with members of the 57th Bomb Wing from World War II, and with members of the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, an air demonstration squadron.
Another bill signing today: Bush signed S-3728 into law, the North Korea Nonproliferation Act of 2006.
And the Dow-Jones Industrial Average rose to another record close today to mark the third straight week of triple-digit increases in the blue chip index. The final closing figure was 11,960.51. And according to Fox News, consumer confidence is rising sharply in October.
