Oops, I forgot to add http://www.issues2002.org (don't worry about the date in there) will give you the skinny all all politicians. Like this on Frank Lautenburg:

Ask her what sort of state she will live in if a substantial portion of the tax base, business, is gone...and they are going. That is what you get with the Democrats.

Let her know that the democratic party she knew and loved, is no more.
This is not the party of Truman, Kennedy, Humphries, etc. Those who will benefit, by democratic victories, are socialists who are intent on taking from one to give to another. Not for the love of those in need, but for the need to stay in power -- just for the sake of power.

I agree on the value of pictures. That's why I'm trying to find that rogues gallery of potential Democrat committee leaders. My focus is really very narrow. I will get nowhere trying to persuade her of the value of the Iraq war (she hates war) or how evil the radical Muslims are (she already knows that.) I realize that to Freepers the connection is clear, but that will not be a beneficial argument. I simply have to prove to her that Democrats have consistently opposed the steps that she agrees will help keep this country safer - monitoring suspicious phone calls, stopping the financing of terrorist organizations, and securing our borders, beefing up port security, etc.

Forget it. My father-in-law is the same way. Thinks he is still voting for FDR, JFK and Truman.
Just get a picture of the WTC being demolished and tape it where she'll see it every day.

Ask her what she knows about Salman Pak (one of the terrorist training camps run by Sadaam in Iraq, with a train (ala Spain), plane (hijacking ala 9/11) + double decker bus (ala London bombings) used by Sadaam's security forces in training islamo-terrorists.

I sympathize with your plight. Some people will just not listen. I pray for them.

Just tell her that Corizine wants to add a small tax to retirement benefits to help close the NJ budget. Corizine is taxing so much else, it will be believable if not inevitable.
Otherwise, why bother? I live in NJ and my method to supress the vote is to go vote before I come home so that my wife(big lib) isn't motivated to go.

You did read that it's his mother in law? LOL!
Does it really make any difference?
Not too long ago I "fell in love" with a curvy, cute, little Atlantic City Hotsie, Hell, at my age any thing is a young woman! The Gal was damned near 40, for craps sake, a New Jersey High School Graduate, cream of the crop, still dumber than a Florida rock, and we have damned few real rocks in Florida!
I've been hearing, for decades, about the superior products of the Yankee school systems, but the one I got wasn't even smart enough to be a Redneck! For goodness sake, the girl was hotter than a blazing bed of coals, but too damned dumb to pee on her foot if it caught on fire.
Hell, when I run low on Viagra, I want someone to talk to!
I reckon that "Yankees" are just simply damned different, too old to sort it out, I am!
For all our fundalmentalist Brethern, there is this. I hung around, faithful and chaste, for 6 damned years after my wife ran away, found religion, and all that stuff, and then, the ex called my number, to remind me that I was, "living in sin". I told her, "well, sweetie, at least if I die tonight I will die remembering a real live woman, and you never made the grade"!
I reckon I just had best shut up! I may, likely am, "trailer trash", whatever, I am a real REPUBLICAN!

She's adamantly opposed to the war in Iraq, but is very concerned about the threat posed to this country...Dennis Miller said it best last week - "It would be nice if there were a country called 'Al Qaeda' where we could go to fight the terrorists, but since there isn't, Iraq was the next best thing" - ask her where else she thinks we should go to wipe them out - besides here if we dither around too long, that is.......
To: NECAWA
Sure, remind her how sKerry said he wanted to "consult" the U.N. if we get attacked. The RATS don't want pre-emptive action!! That should be enough to convince her!
