GOP Leaders Seek Probe of Berger Papers
Breitbart/AP ^ | 10/11/2006 | ERICA WERNER/ AP

A group of House Republicans called Wednesday for a congressional investigation into the improper handling of classified documents by President Clinton's national security adviser, Sandy Berger. Berger admitted last year that he deliberately took classified documents out of the National Archives in 2003 and destroyed some of them at his office. He pleaded guilty in federal court to one charge of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material and was fined $50,000.

"Why isn't he in prison?" You are asking a great question! If you or I had stolen documents from the National Archives, we would definitely be in prison. Why has the current administration failed to expose and to prosecute memebers of the previous administration for their treasonous duplicity? What could they possibly hope to protect by protecting the worst public servents in history?

OMG Finally... Lets see I would start by stating to the Clintons that we can suppose anyting we want about your failures to address pre-911 terror threats and the reason we can do that is that we have no idea what exactly Sandy Berger stole from the National Archives... Then everyone of them should be placed under oath and forced to take a lie detector test to determine exactly how damaging to National Security the information in question was.

..Therefore this group of Republicans have said, "Oh, you want a war? Why didn't you say so?"...

You said a lot and I thank you for it. On the Foley situation, I don't want to touch it because few would agree with me and already I screamed about this before.

NOW, WHAT I WANT IS THE REP'S KICKING A-- HARD... Take the globes off and let these Hypocrites Rats and their cheerleaders (the MSM) have it. Especially NOW, when the left is so puffed up and so sure they will win hands down.

The worse the Reps can do now is keep taking it... which is a subliminal message for "we don't deserve to win." They better change that fast.

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE... that these sh--heads are more concerned about the rights of terrorists than the American People... and the REPS LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THAT????????? How is possible the Rats have been able to redefine TORTURE... when any idiot knows what torture really is?... Answer: THE REPS HAVE TO DO A BETTER JOB...COME Reps.. go kill!!!! :)

"Saw Berger the other day; interviewed by John Gibson/FoxNews. . .thought I was watching 'Saturday Night Live' just by his being there. (And said as much in e-mail to Gibson. . .)"

I also sent an email...something about Sandy Burglar, the convicted thief, Bill Clinton, the convicted liar, and Kim Jung Il, the "cheater," and asked who we had left we could still trust. ;)

I have a feeling Berger's appearance on Gibson's show to defend Clinton might have just have been the kicker for this.

Where were these Republicans when Bush's Justice Department gave Sandy Burglar a Wrist Slap?
Did not hear a pep from the good ole boys network then.
I guess that new tone thing was still the standard.

Who fined him?
Why? To bury the crime?

From the getgo, I thought he should be made under oath to list the damned documents (which he destroyed) and their contents, and using as many resources as necessary, send the a*****e away for life for perjury.
Anybody here think he'll be up front and truthful about it?

This crime is a both a major crime against the American people, unprecedented, as serious, in my opinion, as the worst treason.

Why is this sleazeball still in public service of any kind?

It could be a psy-ops ploy to condition the sheeple to ignore old news that appears to be being re-hashed just for spite (as the msm will probably start claiming is the case with this issue.) Then, we the Rats try to dig up old stuff deeper in this election cycle (and we all know they will), the impact will be lessened, pre-emptively. What's interesting here is that at least the Pubs are re-hashing a significant and not-too-old issue, whereas the Rats always bring up some really old, insignificant, askew issue and try to run with it (via the msm.) So, the Pubs win on both accounts. Rove probably plays chess, and very well.

I've always contended that as long as the Clintoons have that "J.Edgar Hoover" insurance policy(copies of F.B.I. files); they and their flunkies would never see the inside of a prison cell.

I agree, without reservation.
Since the Contract With America was so easily derailed, I am convnced that there is criminal gross abuse of power and blackmail involved.

The only puzzler is that one would think there would be one Republican out of thousands willing to take the hit to blow the whole crime wide open.
The beauty of it is, he would be risking only embarrassment, so long as there is a sitting Republican president...

My thought as well; surely had word he was ready to 'come out swinging'. . .but what a joke (as per your comments as well. I did ask Gibson. . .WHO at Fox News 'made' him do it!

Whatever, we know they did not go looking for the Burglar. . .

Acutally between Cavuto and Soros. . .and then the 'Burglar' w/Gibson; it was not such a great week at FN and I did get a little worried. . .

He should permanently loose his security clearance (not a 3 year suspension) and NEVER again be allowed to work for the US government - as either a GS employee, political appointee or contractor.

After serving at least 10 years in jail, as a convicted felon, all that would be automatic, I should hope.

Question: I know presidential pardons can curtail firther punishment (jail time, execution, etc.), but can it erase a felony record?

. . .seems the only way to explain some Repubs behavior. . .but CWA really, was not derailed; but for sure. . .Newt was.

As for the Welfare Reform designated in Contract; Clinton took the credit; and it still holds per Demrat memory.

"I know the speaker didn't go over a bridge and leave a young person in the water, and then have a press conference the next day," said Shays, R-4th District, referring to the 1969 incident in which the Massachusetts Democrat drove a car that plunged into the water and a young campaign worker died. "Dennis Hastert didn't kill anybody," he added.

Ouch!!!

Missed it the first time. Thanks for the replay. :^)
