A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Good morning, MEG.
I had a Tropicana rose when I lived in the Dallas area.
Did it look pretty much like this one? When I bought this rose a few years ago, I forgot to make note of the name of it. It is one of my favorites.

It did indeed look like that. It is a beautiful color.
It's been 20 years since I lived there so I am going from memory.

Yes, I am more and more convinced that it is a Tropicana. The reason I love this rose is because it blooms constantly all summer, requires little care other than feeding and watering, and the clear peachy orange color of the roses against the deep green foliage is just striking.

This is as close as I can find on the web of the "berries" on my Yew shrub..
It is loaded with these double berries that are watermelon pink, watermelon red, lipstick red and shades of purple on the top of the berry and the bottom is a gray green that looks pale aqua in certain light. It is a large Yew trimmed tall and this year is really lovely. I cannot find the exact kind it is.
I love it when you or anyone posts flowers from your own garden..I also loved the hanging baskets from your trip to VictoriaBC, Mama Bear..

The misting secret must be why we had those squirt guns at the first FReeper picnic - JK wanted a good group picture. :)
