The second annual "Redskins Sporting Clays Challenge" is being held despite a public outcry over last year's event. The MMM shows what they are truly about - all guns are bad, even sporting weapons.

If one anti-gun organization objects, that amounts to "public outcry".

Show me the million moms and maybe I will entertain your demands. BTW, the Redskins don't play in DC, they play in Maryland and practice in VA. Why do moms care whether people enjoy shooting sports?

Dang. IIRC, this is the same group that a few years back convinced the Washington Bullets to change their name to avoid being associated with crime & violence.
They decided to be known as simply "the Bullets"

What a bunch of hooey! As an NRA member and law abiding citizen, one need only to look at the ever rising violent crime rate in D.C. - and that's WITH their total gun ban. So, the little scary cats are afraid to allow law-abiding citizens their RIGHT to protect themselves, their families, and their properties. Just another ploy of the anti-gun left. Thank God for the Second Amendment!

Should have been more, there are a lot of OLD GOATS in DC and it would have prevented more. /S
To: kiriath_jearim
The NRA is currently lobbying Congress to pass legislation (H.R. 1288 and S. 1082) that would repeal the city's gun laws. The bills would legalize handguns, semiautomatic assault rifles and .50 caliber sniper rifles; allow any person to carry, openly or concealed, loaded handguns and other concealable firearms in houses, places of business, or other land "possessed by that person"; and, severely weaken the District's ban on armor- piercing handgun ammunition. Can't have that! You might end up with a crime problem in DC.
/do I really need the sarc tag?

Next the MMM will outlaw the use of gun metaphors in football.
"Mark Brunell fires a bullet to his open wide receiver...what's that, you say? Can't use that? Aw jeez, OK."
"Mark Brunell happily throws the fluffy pink football to his transgendered receiver, who has returned from the performance-challenged list..."
To: kiriath_jearim
The NRA-backed legislation is vigorously opposed by virtually every elected official in the District, Democrat and Republican alike There are Republican elected officials in the District?
Who knew? But that is beside the point. The second amendment applies in the District, even if you think it only restricts the federal government. Constitutionally, Congress has "exclusive Legislation" (Art. 1 Section 8, next to last paragraph) over the District. Local elected officials can go pound sand, they may not restrict the rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

"THe Redskins shot 15 kids last year????"No, the guns did, you big silly. Didn't you read the article? It's all about the "gun crime". You know, where those nasty guns all go shooting themselves off and killing our kids. No perps....just guns.
You sir, need more Kool-Aid! /sarc
