A former congressional page said he had sex with disgraced former US lawmaker Mark Foley, according to a newspaper report, as an explosive Washington political scandal continued to unfold.

It's interesting that some 59 year old Democrat from Wallingford, Connecticut, would become so obsessive about creating a fake profile, right down to an überdweeb photo in rainbow suspenders, with weird gay references, essentially what a leftie would dream up as a gay Republican ... and this was done back in the early part of this year. Did you know that the some on the left are now saying that Hastert himself is gay, and is known in gay circles in DC. This was posted at another site (non political usually) that I frequent.

There is a very logical (if the gay perspective could ever be considered logical) explanation for these rumors. The outed gay community is very disdainful of those gays that chose to hide their orientation. Outed gays, feeling that only they can be "experts" on gay identification, make observations of all heterosexual individuals labeling some as gay, based on behaviors thought by them to be gay indicators. Those indicators may be as simple as the company one keeps.

Outed gays are often liberal democrats due to voting alliances. These people believe they can identify closeted gays and speculate on republicans who might be in the closet. Due to their dislike of conservative republicans politically and their loathing of gays who won't out themselves, there is great interest in going after people like Foley, and in starting rumors about Hastert. They are no more accurate than heterosexuals who engage in this practice, they just think they are.
