Great comments and too many to list.

If a political party has no character, standards, ethics or morals, they cannot be expected to govern any country.  Here, that applies to Democrats.  In other countries they are called communists or socialism or a dictatorship.  It's all the same mindset.  They cannot allow freedom, liberty, markets or individualism to prevail.  They are driven to destroy because they cannot build.

Does Perkins have any real world political experience?

I don't think anyone in America is madder at Foley than Bob Woodward. Bob has been relegated to only one appearance today.

Don't forget that Bill Clinton was the top story before either one of these things cam along. He must have been enjoying the spotlight before this all came along.

Maybe Mr. Clinton will hit the talk show circuit and say, "Hey! Stop talking about Mark Foley and talk about me! This Foley thing is just about sex, after all!"

I think McCaskell just blew it. Timmy confronts her with the "Bush let people die on rooftops because they were poor and black." She says she doesn't think Bush is a racist, but she stands by the remark because, due to the images they were seeing, that's what most people "believed." So she will say things she doesn't believe if it will play to the crowd.

Did you see this, from a thread posted by Mr. Brightside:

Buried in the same gossipy section, this tidbit about Congressman Mark Foley:

"For a quiet guy who likes privacy, Palm Beach dermatologist Layne Nisenbaum sure had a tough week. Foley's longtime partner observed media types cowering in the bushes near his $3.2 million home on Cherry Lane. Notice the news is reporting the "trust" poll.

HOUSE LEADERSHIP INCLUDES MINORITY LEADER PELOSI!!

In asking "do you trust the House leadership?", this includes the minority leaders.

HOWEVER they are reporting it as Hassert.

Fox News Channer early this morning was saying the newsweak poll was saying the public does not believe the leadership HOWEVER in their 9:30 EST report they said the same story with "don't trust HASSERT".

SPIN
SPIN
SPUN

Equivalent time does not mean complet story.

FNC skiping over the network of homosexuals who coddled foley. Democrats.

Nor are they asking when did Pelosi KNOW ABOUT THE CREW.

Nor is FNC asking about the fact that as a homosexual Foley was cultivating sex partners for the future out of the page program. Typical homosexual as a sex predator on children.

Morning!

Wow! It was a late nite last nite.....we did a rockin' 3 hour set (taking no breaks) then sat down at the bar with the restaurant personnel (cooks, dishwashers, waiters) after the patrons left and started a free-flowing party with everyone going behind the bar and pouring their own beers from the tap. Needless to say I overslept this morning and woke at 8:30.

I did turned on MTP and Timmy's selection of initial questions (Iraq etc.) showed more about his 'agenda' than anything else; JEEZE-LOUISE is McCaskill annoying.

I switched to watching C-SPAN's discussion on North Korea. Now its a interview from a BBC reporter on Iraq, ie. I'm not going to pretend impartiality in this case.

In the category of "strange bedfellows" (it is difficult to even type that phrase these days) we seem to be aligned with Kristol on l'affaire Foley.

This is a horrible observation and will likely paint me as a bigot, but I have always thought that Kristol was a closeted Log Cabin Republican, despite, or perhaps because of, his alleged homophobia.

A lot of his bitchiness at this administration seemed based on personal rather than political animus and I don't think he's a big fan of evangelicals.  I could clearly be wrong about all of that, it's just a vague impression.

I could be completely wrong here, but believe he was a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in 2000. IIRC, he had one of those Bob Dole fall-off-the-podium incidents.

Family Research Council is one of the organizations like Dobson's who are very influential. Jay Sekulow also either came from there or is still a part of it.

Don't forget that Bill Clinton was the top story before either one of these things cam along.

I honestly had forgotten about BJ Clinton being the really huge story until this came out. I still think if N Korea sets off a nuke and accidently kills thousand of their own citizens, Foley will remain the really, really big story for the Democrats.

Just goes to show how short one's attention span is.

:)

Foley might remain the big story for the other Democrats, but Bill Clinton will remain the big story for Bill Clinton. We're all just lucky that he can't campaign for other Democrats as well as he can campaign for himself.

Thanks.

My point is this. It's the press, not the democrats.

Democrats are a party that believes a certain political philosophy, that people can accept or reject at the ballot box. And that is fine.

But the press masquerade as a non-biased entity telling us what is going on in the world. When they take a side, as they have now done, they become insidious and dangerous to the political process.

I don't blame the democrats for trying to make political hay from the Foley affair. But the press, the DBM, well....

They are ganging up once again, drive bying once again, gunning for us, once again.

Very true...seems like McCaskell just bought herself a casket with the way she fielded that fast ball by Timboy. She even hedged when it came time to support the queen of the party, miss hillary.
