A former House page says he had sex with then-Rep. Mark Foley (R-Fla.) after receiving explicit e-mails in which the congressman described assessing the sexual orientation and physical attributes of underage pages but waiting until later to make direct advances. The former page, who agreed to discuss his relationship with Foley with the Los Angeles Times on the condition that he not be identified, said his electronic correspondence with Foley began after he finished the respected Capitol Hill page program for high school juniors. His sexual encounter was in the fall of 2000, he said. At the time, he was 21 and a graduate of a rural Northeastern college.

Anyway it seems what foley did was consentual and with people overage, he deserves to be out of Congress, and I am still waiting for barney frank's resignation.
The former page's account is consistent with Foley's assertion that he did not have sexual relations with minors, an issue that will be key to determining whether he committed crimes.
The legal age of consent varies from state to state; in the District of Columbia, where the pages live in supervised dormitories, it is 16.

Why did he bother to "come forth" with this information? And if he wanted to come forth and there was no wrong doing legally, why talk to a newspaper instead of the FBI?
This smells to me. It only confirms Foley is gay, that's no news now.
I told my democrat sister about Corn's list. She refused to believe he is a liberal!! I am going to go nuts with her; she is absolutely convinced that it is the Christian right that is doing this!!! AAaaargh!

Use your P/C or any other means of communication to young people, get them fired up and show, not just to them but, everyone what the left is doing to America.
I am betting this Foley debacle is going to come back and, bite the Dem's in the a**.
As a conservative, the Foley debacle has made me more determined to get out the vote. I am beginning to see some of the same in some of the post here at FR.

The Repubs really need to get outfront with ads on this issue. There has to be a way to condemn the outing of Congressmen, without condoning homosexuality, or anything Foley did. MANY people probably don't know about the illegal activities of the Dems/CREW/media in all this -it seems illegal to blackmail.

I am more fired up. I will tell everyone how furious I am at this concerted effort. The reason why this story is important is the media will conflate it with all previous stories, but in shorthand, and thereby confuse people.

Oh, that's simple. Who would have ever suspected that a congressional Page would be homosexual. (sarcasm)
There's a real story in here -- in 2000, before Foley had any worry abouy getting caught, he is now ON RECORD saying that he never had sexual encounters or exchanges with kids in the page program.
And this example shows that, in this case he waited. Coupled with the disgusting IMs where it's clear they were talking about waiting until the kid was 18 before discussing the disgusting stuff, it really looks like Foley was just "making friends" with pages, so later on when they were old enough he could ask them to engage in consensual talk, and maybe actual sex.
I'm disgusted by it because it is wrong to abuse the page system like that. But I can't imagine any democrat would expell a member for having sex with a former page, since in fact they wouldn't expell a member for having sex with a CURRENT page, and some wouldn't even CENSURE him, and some of those democrats are now in the leadership.
The MSM is ignoring this part of the story, but this page is saying that Foley was meticulous about NOT abusing pages, just making friends with them and trying to figure out which ones were gay by asking some questions that I guess would reveal their orientation.
I wonder if asking pages leading questions is something that the democrats are ready to kick THEIR MEMBERS out of congress for? Can you imagine how many democrat men must have made SOME comment to female pages at some time to "ascertain" whether they might be interested in sex with them?
