CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.
Developing...
Listen to Shep Smith: "This wouldn't have happened if Tom DeLay had been here, right?"
I hope HE'S exposed!
Right now (could change in 5 mins) I'm leaning toward the "The joke was on Foley." way of thinking.
As my late Father used to say: "They have fouled their own nest."
I have never felt this would hurt Republicans at the polls. We want the bad apples culled. The moonbats on the other hand, known to eat their own vis-a-vis Lieberman, will not let the Dems off the hook for gay bashing I doubt.
All true. But he's also a person that needs professional help and love from his family.
He has a new CD coming out.
"and the page program needs to be looked into. "
as far as I can tell the entire page/intern program is a meat wagon for congressmen who want to use it.
LS, why would we doubt you!? :)
"I never understood why they were so quick to call for Denny's head! Seems like that would be a pretty bad move to have the Speaker resign just before an election. Anyone calling for such a thing must want to see the GOP lose the House."
The Brown Shirted Trolling Moles who started screaming for Denny's head last Friday had to be part of the left wing's behind the line first wavers.
None of these vile Moles have anything positive to offer us, this nation or this site.
The same Kirk who claimed to have asked ABC not to publish the IMs, and the same Kirk who claimed he convinced Foley to resign - maybe a conversation like this:
"Now I got you, you sob. I told you not to cross me. We have hundreds of these and will release one a day until you resign."
*** Just speculation on my part. An hypothesis rather than an assertion of fact ***
"prank gone awry" --- lawyer advice!
Jane Skinner, Rich Lowry, and Shep Smith are still discussing what Hastert should do....they don't have a clue about what has just been revealed. Perhaps FR needs a hot line to feed the TV guys the news. We're better informed than they are.
I agree with much of what you say here...Foley is still a creep who engaged in reprehensible behavior, regardless. But, this does change some of the dynamics in this case. Instead of a helpless child who was being prayed upon by Foley, we may have a young 18-year old adult who was the actual instigator in this event. While I by no means consider Foley a victim, it appears the so-called "child" may not be a victim, either.
Apparently Rich Lowry and Shep Smith don't know about this latest turn. It is very amusing that they are waxing so solemn about this while we have more current information.
Not that I know of. He had a pretty girlfriend from Sioux City when he was in college.
Nope, ain't buying it either. I think our young friend, the IM'er had a visit from some 'authority figures' after the blogger published out who he was, and was taught a new story to recite to the media, and the FBI, once they show up. A little too neat and tidy, but the average Joe will buy it, so it probably serves it's purpose.
LOL!!! Great pic!
I haven't read thru all the posts yet, but isn't this what Rush said today, that since the 'victim' hired a lawyer, this could all have been a prank?
Man, el Rushbo is always right!
You've probably seen this thread but just in case I thought I'd ping you.
Yes. The RATS won't but Hastert did everything right. He acted on the email along with the FBI, and the entire thing was dropped. Hastert did speak with Foley as I understand. He performance was excellent and within the authority of the Speakers position. He is not a policeman, and rules according to House rules only.
Yes. I think Foley resigned because he thought this resignation would kill the story and he could spare his mother and father this indignation. I hate what Foley did, but I feel sorry for the guy. He was a tool for the remorseless democrats who will go to any length to gain power.
