CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.
Developing...
Anyone have a clue why this report on Drudge hasn't been mentioned on any news show tonight? As a matter of fact the Dem pundits are still at it as ugly as ever.
Is no one taking it seriously? Even Hannity hasn't mentioned it. Does it have any credibility?
Never mind...someone else cleared it all up.
Thanks.
Man this is the most tiring story. And it highlights some basic differences among Freepers.
LIke how differently we regard 16 to 18 year old boys who are working in Washington. Some see them as children, vulnerable. Others see them as pretty sophisticated.
And gays. Some think any gay man is just an abomination. Others think live and let live. Some see Foley as an evil pedophile preying on innocent children. Others see him as a pitiable drunk, skirting the law, trying to get a sex partner.
It really does create dissention here. But the dems knew that.
What fascinates me is that the guy in charge of the page program is gay. I wonder if that has anything to do with how the pages are selected.
Nobody has pointed out the thing that strikes me. Gay men often as part of coming out have sexual liasons with older men. It is safer than to try to hit on a peer. And the older gay men regard it as fairly ubiquitous. Gay men often talk about this. And do not regard it as being abused, they see it as beiing initiated.
People may not approve of that. But it is part of the culture.
"I am at home; but apparently most of you are not!
How you guys can protect this dirt bag by claiming the 16 yr old boy was age of consent so nothing illegal happened just amazes me."
I think you better get up to speed on who the "16 year old boy" is. Can't help now with what thread it was but there was some stuff out last evening about him. Ambitious to say the least. Now hiring a high power defense attorney and claiming it was an innocent prank.
I am glad I held off on crystalizing any set opinion on any of the players in this mess. First impressions are hard to overcome and that is exactly what needs to be overcome now by many Americans IMHO. And there won't be much help from the lame-brained MSM.
Hahhhh...this has Rathergate Take Two written all over it...except worse! The lefties thought they were in trouble with Rather...just wait until the FBI comes knocking on the door of a Soros group!!!
Get the popcorn.
July 5, 2006? Everyone has to join at some point.
As a point of clarification, I'm not defending anyone. I'm encouraging someone who seems like a reasonable poster to continue.
LOL, I was quite sure my boy would not of understood my explaination of "Congressman Foley" for his question of what was a "fruitbar"?
But needless to say, my wife fully understood... ouch..
Anytime now this thread will be delegated to the Smokey Backroom. DU must love watching us tearing each other to shreds over this story. What a shame!
They are a non-profit organization that is funded by George Soros that is supposed to be an ethical watch group. I beileve they were founded in 2003 and all the ethics cases they have referred, they have all been on republicans, except one against William Jefferson ($90,000 in the freezeer) ONLY AFTER the allegations of corruptions against him surfaced. With the republicans, they have actively sought the information themselves. I do not have a list of all the republicans though.
They joined round the last cycle too. Examine their post history before you think they are real.
PS: Thanks. I think myself rather acute in perceptivity. Nice to have a high five every now and then.
You sign on here in July of this year and keep coming back and back with your comments that make no sense. Go pick on someone else! I am not playing your game.
Well, me, oh, my, do ya think that has a bearing on the whole mess? /sarc
I did?
I just finished my 2005 taxes tonite and am operating on two brain cells.
...repeating the same Dem talking points, over and over and over...
..Shep beating the flames...
I'm sick of it!
Most states it is 16. Cannot buy alochol until you are 21! Makes no sense to me.
Interesting... have a link?
BTW... good post...
