CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.
Developing...
ABC is withholding information from a Federal investigation.
Well then, the Democratic operatives and their MSM mouthpieces who exploited this prank gone bad are pure unalloyed evil.
Everybody here needs to put their activists hats on and make ABC pay for this just like the CBS rathergate issue. Email Producers, sponsors everything... Congress is already going to investigate so the facts will be known but if the Lame Stream Media attempted to sway another election they have got to go down.
Yes, I misread the story.
I don't agree with you at all. And netiquette has nothing to do with it.
This thread is getting like those late Friday evening Evo/Creo threads ~ thousands of posts, no agreement, but thousands of posts.
All these federal investigations into "keeping our children safe" could be for naught, there may have never been a danger to our children!
I will be watching to see how these got into ABC's hands, who had them, why, if they thought they were legit, did they hold onto them for three years. But our number #1 question should be, did ABC know the identity of the page (and since a blogger found it, they should have also) and Jordan tell them it was a hoax? If he did, and they didn't report that part of it, that is a huge story IMO.
The question is, who is paying the big name lawyer's big time retainer?
This is true. Given the average attention span of the American voter, the election is still an eternity away. Anything can still happen between now and then.
" I haven't checked ABC's website recently "
They have an interesting story posted - " Foley Could Avoid Criminal Charges in Underage Congressional Page Probe "
According to the various lawyers they interviewed , if it's just the IMs that are presently known - Foley hasn't done anything illegal.
ABC is still calling them underage pages.
"...I haven't seen anything no specific action where Foley specifically solicited anyone to commit unlawful acts," said California-based defense lawyer Steve Cron.
"It sounded more like it was childish teasing, titillating communication that was meant to excite and entertain."
If somebody comes on to you as a prank, but then you flirt back and ask them if they want to give you a sponge bath, would it really matter to your significant other that the original flirting directed toward you was a prank?
He checked into where? Rehab
Could have been he was so bad off ...he thought he could have, but didn't...know for sure either way...?
Some of the best Republican activists I know went to Berkley. That theory is a nonstarter.
Thanks for the ping!
Those sorry Dem BA$TARDS. They'd destroy their own grandma if they thought it would get them back in power!!
Drudge knows how to get everyone here excited. Still, the story could very well be accurate.
He can't even be accused of that since the kid seemed to be a willing participant - over and over again.
No. Admittedly it is sick for teenagers to play this kind of prank on a middle-aged homosexual. However, it is much worse for an adult man to show a sexual interest in a child.
Granted, it appears that the "kid" was over 18 when the nasty IMs were sent, but Foley didn't know that.
